Description A Close up shot of the gate with a 135mm camera lens. Attempting to show off the polygonal detail of the gate model and at the same time trying to recreate one of the title-credit images. Let me know if I can render off another one that could show ine polygonal detail any better from a different angle. TIA.

Everything is polygonally modeled on this gate. All 9 chevrons and all 39 glyphs ! cheers

Chamfer/bevel edges. There's no sharp edges in the nature (except razor blades
Also smooth a little those rings. It supposed to be round, not angular.
Noise bump on the 'wings' should be smaller (less scale). It looks blurred.
Anyway, it's great model. Make adjustments, give some textures and ligting, and keep it up

P.S. Displace on the inside edge is perfect. Expose it!

hey, no worries - your english is perfect !. Thanks for the tips! It'll be a while before I get back to it, as im doing some other 3d stuff ATM, but at least your recommendations will still be here so I wont forget! Thanks again. I hope I get round to it sooner rather than later though !

Thanks. I was 50/50 as to weather to bevel the edges or not. I chose not to because the polycount of this model is insanely high to naviagte around to any smooth degree. I think I might try it anyway just for a render or two. As for the missing "inset" of where the chevron "wings"...if you will....sit - I am aware, but just never got round to it! Same goes for the inner ring zig-zag detail lines....some problems with boolean (i know...terrible)....but problems all the same prevented me from sucsessfully pullin this off - so i chose to leave them out for the time being.

nice, clean modelling. I find the outside edge - what I can see of it anyway, is lacking the detail of the rest of the gate. Bevelling some of the particularly sharp edges would help, too, especially the areas close to the camera.

lol - Thanks. It is quite a bright-ish image so try adjusting you monitor contrast and brightness. Should be that bit better then. Thanks again though
