Description I got to thinking last night (never a wise idea at three o'clock in the morning) and it suddenly occurred to me; if Roa is the past Avatar guide to Ennki, then unless she died at a young age, the likelihood of her appearing like a 16 or 17-year-old girl is phenomenally low. So, here is a quick sketch (and I do mean quick!) of Roa as she would appear to her erstwhile reincarnation; a mature woman, with the sorrow of her time etched into her features.

...and if that last paragraph made absolutely no sense, my apologies...I suggest you check out the Avatar OC crew over at ...

I've never tried to age a character before, so let me know if you think something needs to be changed. Sketched in red ballpoint and coloured with pencil crayon. I know perspective is off and the proportions are wonky; it is, after all, just a sketch.

Amazing job

Quite the unique idea as well. You did quite the amazing job on this because I can definitely see the resemblance between the two. This is so well done that it needs a better designation that just a "quick sketch."

Very very well done

Love the colours! You can tell it's the same person, only quite a bit older I would say watch the proportions, but I see you've realised you should do that already. Cool dress, too!

Well done! Although I think the wrinkles should be at the outer edges of the eyes.

Apart from that, I really love the picture! You really let her age gracefully.

I usually draw pictures that have been circling in my head for a time until they bugger me to be drawn (I'm a little perfectionist, you see).

E.g. a new CD I got only yesterday with mediaeval harp music ([link] ) made me think of a picture with a couple dancing some mediaeval/Renaissance dance. But I think it'll take some time until I get it drawn, I have to do some research on attire and dancing figures (I'm a hobby dancer myself doing Irish Dance).

Usually I'm the same way; I'll worry away at little details for ages before putting pen to paper. Thanks!

Now that's cool. I really like this, no matter how fast you say it was done. (Heck I turned out the piece I'm about to post, check it out, in under four hours from start to finish, and I was sketching, scanning and using a mouse to do it.)

In my opinion the best pieces are the ones that are done when you don't think about them too much. Planning them and working them through before-hand only sets you up for disappointment when it goes wrong.

Which is proved by this; you imagined it, and then did it. And it turned out brilliantly.

I'll not lie, you can improve this, but unless you want to fully digitize it and spend too long to do so then you won't manage to. It's that good already.

The aging is believable, that's something more to add, I can see the maturity there, and I can still see the original girl there too. You've done that really well kid.

Top marks, you've earned them this time.
