My first entry for the Square Enix contest.check out my other entry, Toto: [link]
So there was reason for my "I must draw in Tetsuya Nomura style" craze from a few months back. xDD
The character's nickname is Trigger, due to her numerous victories with shooting games in the arcades. I think she would be a cool hero. xD
Reasons for design
After looking at the concept art boards and the existing character art, the urban feeling of the game was the first thing that really stood out for me. And compared to previous games with the art of Nomura, the outfits are actually wearable. The design for the outfit came fast after that. I wanted to draw a hoodie so badly.
The existing characters have a rather muted, retro colour palet (with exeption of the main character, damn purple). Honestly, I tried pink at first (I'm such a girl) but that failed completely. It didn't fit in with the rest of the characters. I choose brown and orange after that, which I always find a great colour combination and fits exellent with the existing art of the game.

Again, amazing! You draw those horrible zippers so well!! Her hood is precious, and baseball socks = plus! I love baseball socks! Awesome job, orange was a nice color choice.

This has to be the best one i've seen so far.
Trigger really does look like she could be in the game, and she wouldn't look out of place.
Her outfit is adorable, and IS actually wearable, like you said, and it seems to complement her personality.
I really do quite like this one.

Wow. You got the style down, that's for sure! I was looking through all the other contest entries, and they all seem to be wearing bright and happy-happy-happy colours which blind my eyes. 
When I first saw this, I actually thought that it was a piece from Nomura, and had to do a double take! The whole concept of her outfit is really cool! It's very simple, but I like that about it. After I saw this I found myself strangely wanting to play shooting games in the arcade....
What program did you use to do the line art and colouring?

bright colours are oke, I just think they should be visible in the small things. :3
I wish it was a Nomura piece, cause then I would be Nomura and then I wouldn't be having a mental breakdown over my graduation projects. xD;

it just takes time and practice to get it. I've been using it for 5 years now and trust me, my first drawing on it wasn't pretty either. xD

I'm sad to say I've always been quite good at copying other people's styles. I drew my first drawing in Nomura style when kingdom hearts got released here and drew my second and third drawings in this style a few months back. they're in my gallery, if interested. xD
and I guess it's a style that suits me. All big lines and simplistic colouring. :3

as for the art style, true and the arms and leg structure I think is like the shins are slightly thin and the arms near the wrists are the same. But that's all I think I could be wrong. Well thnx for answering my question ^^ I'll be rooting for this pic.
