paradikal [2007-01-27 17:24:02 +0000 UTC]

the part about turning the sky to black or clean isn't really nescesary cuz at all you're putting a non-transparent object later and the camera is inside so yup
I loved this technique when I was starting to use bryce

V-rs In reply to paradikal [2007-01-28 11:55:30 +0000 UTC]

thanks m8
I didn't knew about the black part, i just always do it

Two small things of constructive criticism

First: when you are trying to get the black background instead click the little arrow pointing right next to the sky and fog tab and scroll to the bottom. There will be a plain black background called simple black

Secondly: The "V" is a checkmark

Sorry if you are offened by these things

V-rs In reply to dragoonslayer92 [2006-10-22 07:38:51 +0000 UTC]

I know about the black background, but I just always do it in skylabs.
Thanks for the second thing.

Ok here is the link to the piece I made following your tutorial...it's not good quality, like I said I set it to the lowest premium rays per pixel and left it at a smaller size...It was veeeeeeeery late... I wanted to show the very basic-ness of following the tut so that a beginner could see what he might get if he didn't know anything more at all about fixing it up in Bryce. [link]

Not bad. I think a beginner could do well to use this tutorial...I'm using Bryce 5.5 so the mirror texture is in Metals now... Other than that, everything seemed to be in the same places... I'm gathering up some tut links for a group to look at to see whether they might like to fav them for easier to find access for beginners...I don't think there are any Bryce tuts in there right now... I ran through this and found only a few places that a beginner might be too confused about, but it's hard for me to tell, since I've been using the program for so long. Good job! I put my result into my scraps Not bad. I think a beginner could do well to use this tutorial...I'm using Bryce 5.5 so the mirror texture is in Metals now... It's great man, if it's to dark you can always add more lighting spheres.
I'm glad you used it and liked it

I used this to create my first piece using Bryce and I can safely say I love it. It's rendering at the moment (53%), but I'll be sure to comment again once it's done, and link you to the wallpaper version.

Thanks a lot, it was really helpful.
