BIO

"You are....?"

"It's Eric. Eric Goldwin. And, if you don't mind me saying, it's an honor to meet you, Dr. Tatopoulis."

"Haha. Well, the honors all mine. What can I do for you?"

Eric was just happy he got the name right, he hadn't quite come up with his first question yet. He stumbled with his words a little.

"Well, I have just arrived here at G-Force headquarters, I was recruited, you see. And, a new friend I made told me you were here, and I, well.... I wanted to ask you a few questions."

"What about?"

"About what happened in New York... sir."

Nick fell silent, a look of nostalgia in his eyes.

"A lot happened in New York, Eric. A lot."

The two walked further down a hallway, until Nick swiped his card key at a door. When it opened, Nick motioned for Eric to follow him in. Inside was a massive hangar, obviously used for something big. But, for the most part, it was empty. Eric jaw dropped at the sight.

"What is this place?"

"This is the G-Force Kiryu hangar. The mecha itself at EDF headquarters, where it's getting a tune-up. I was sent here to deliver the results before they brought it back. But, I can show you a few things while we're here."

After handing a folder to a rather generic looking man in a lab coat, Nick sat down at a computer, pulling a flash drive from around his neck. Inserting it opened up a flood of images, charts, and more. But, what he pulled up was images of New York when Zilla landed. Best of all were a few close up images of the creature the night he first saw it. Eric couldn't believe his eyes.

"You got that close?"

"To the first one, no closer. The second, well.... that's a bit of a different matter."

"Wait, a second one? You mean, the one that-"

"Yes, that one."

"Oh, ok. So, where did the second one come from?"

"When the original attacked, I hypothesized that it was here to nest, due to asexual reproduction. I was a little wrong about a few things in my hypothesis, but I was right about the nest. I and a few friends had a bit of a fiasco with the young, and Godz- I mean, Zilla, was killed on the Brooklyn Bridge. But, in a later expedition, one of the eggs survived and hatched right in front of me. I was covered in the eggs fluids, as the hatching was very messy, and the creature imprinted on me. The second Zilla thought of me as it's mother, a rather strange prospect once he was 30 times my size."

"Dang. Boy, that's kind of enviable... But, I'm guessing the military didn't like him all that much."

"No, they did not. I persuaded my colleagues Elsie and Mendel, and an associate of mine, Randy, to help me keep him hidden in Staten Island. But, the military had to have noticed eventually. They attempted to kill the new Zilla, and we thought they suceeded. But, before we could be arrested as 'conspirators,' we were rescued by a woman named Monique, who was from the French secret service. The French were indirectly responsible for Zilla's creation in French Polynesia, and so they felt obligated to help us out for helping them get rid of the first.

Monique managed to 'smuggle' us out to Jamaica, where we laid low for a while. But, there was something there that had the citizens of the village we were staying in on edge. There was a 'sea monster' nearby. As a team of scientists, and one very hormonally charged teenager, we decided to investigate ourselves. At first, we didn't find anything. Then, we found Zilla. I can't tell you how relieved I was to see him alive, and even more so that he followed me all the way down to Jamaica. But, the Jamaican government got word of us and contacted the U.S. Military. They were on their way down, and we couldn't figure out what to do. Monique had prepared another plan to sneak us away again, but she couldn't do anything about Zilla.

As the military arrived, Zilla faced death again. I, rather rashly, now that I look back, felt I had to do something. But, what we didn't realize was that Zilla had only arrived recently, and that the 'sea monster' was something else. A giant creature arose from the Jamaican sea. It looked like some sort of mutated marine crustaceon / cephalopod. The military was shocked beyond belief, but the new creature suddenly suddenly had it's eyes on me. As it lumbered closer, I cried out for my life, and my adopted son answered. Zilla attacked the creature without mercy, in the end burying it under a pile of rocks. The victor was obvious.

The commander of the Armed forces present was at the time Major Hicks, who had worked with us during the first Zilla attack. And I think that's exactly why we got away."

"Wow. You've led a crazy life."

"That's why I'm here now. Well, I really need to be going. I have to tell the EDF brass about how things are going here. If you'll excuse me."

After shaking hands, Nick was gone. Eric was a little disappointed that he wasn't able to get more information out of him, but he didn't let it effect him.

"Okay, if I'm reading this right, the closest from here is...."

Great coloring, a farcry from the bland "puke green" which C-Rex had in the series.

And woot for the story! Been loving it.
