Description Name: Monsterman (Form 1)
Aliases: Monman, John Monman, Johnmon
Factions: Rogue
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Kaiju Rank: 1-3
Territory: N/A, global wanderer with no consistent 'roost'

Stats:

-Height: 2 meters (human form) 32 meters (expanded)
-Weight: Too inconsistent to measure accurately.

Powers:

-Elasticity: Monsterman is technically a semi-solid being, with tough rubberlike skin that makes little sign of wear and tear even after taking blows from the strongest of opponents. It doesn't lend much in the way of strength to the beast, but it can make it nigh impossible to injure severely.

-Symbiosis: A terrifying yet intriguing ability, the Monger entity has demonstrated the ability to assimilate people into its body through very... frightening means, typically absorbing them into its mass, breaking them down into proteins, and using them to bolster itself further. But, it does not shed the consciousness of the absorbed, it retains it, at times loosely. And as more are added and pieced together, a greater range of cognition is achievable. It can partially replicate based on an incomplete assimilation, usually achieved just through limited physical contact, but a complete one typically adds much more to the mix. Many of the best and brightest of the kaijuology community wonder just how far this ability could extend, and what harm, or good, it might do.

-Shapeshifting: Using its human dna, Monsterman can take the form of some genetic mixture of its parts, often providing a perfect cover for escaping into civilization to recover, (provided it finds a change of clothes) even being able to communicate rudimentary sentences. In time, it is believed that its abilities will improve in this, making it all the harder to find.

-Mong-Ray: An ability first demonstrated in the battle with Verminator, Monsterman can release a powerful, baleful, blast of energy from its body, typically from under the teeth like plates on its torso. This is powerful, but very costly, even more so than assimilation, functioning best as a finishing move when all other bets are off.

Weaknesses:

-Supercooling: The Monsterman is incapable of constantly maintaining its large, powerful form, and after a battle will need to break itself down and disappear for a time to recuperate. As it grows larger, this is more difficult to do, and in its state it often has little energy to resist attackers. This is also needed during and after assimilation, though that often leads to greater strength than it had before.

-Fractures: Naturally, while the multiple consciousnesses of Monsterman can be advantageous, removing weaknesses to things like mind control and the like, at other times it can be terribly self-stopping. Usually, when personalities disagree enough, the creature is incapable of deciding on its own without completely halting whatever it was doing.

-Sei-Rays: A type of energy discovered by Monger Industries in its Enigma research, Sei energy is somehow connected to the Monsterman, and causes intense pain when heard. It does not exist naturally in our plane and has little to no effect on the material world, but Mongers have developed rudimentary emitters that can completely unglue the entity's efforts to hide or do battle.

Personality: The 'personality' of Monsterman is a fractured set of psychoses, made up of several assimilated hosts brought in by the experimental 'Monger' entity. The dominant mind appears, however, to be from the suit itself, perhaps as a sort of mixed bag from its assembled parts. It is bright, inquisitive, at times childlike, but very capable of losing all this and becoming something terrible and dangerous. At the moment, it takes mostly after the mind of 11 year old John Marsden, a boy it 'consumed' not long after its escape from Monger Industries. In that, its heroic, idealistic side is displayed. This, as well as the adult intelligence, determination and empathy of the lab workers and mechanic it consumed as well, make it out, for now, to be a good force.

Epoch: Early in Epoch 1 and Beyond

History:

-Monger Industries. A small company that started in Eastern North Carolina, they were at first, just one out of millions, trying to make it in the world. But then, in the wake of the Enigma discoveries, they were one of the first to really jump into the fray, and through that they became surprisingly successful. They did not seek out energy sources like most, though, they instead sought after enigma's more practical applications. They attempted to render enigma into a physical form, spending millions in R&D to accomplish it, but with no prior experience and/or ideas of what to expect, they kept the project largely secret from the public.

The results of their experiments, however, led to little success for many years, even after the first kaiju began appearing, as they were not aware of the true processes of the aetherial yet. That is, until one odd moment happened. One of the researchers, Dr. Rosa Dunn, accidentally cut her hand while handling one of the tools. The blood reacted with the channeled enigma, and from that, a moment that changed everything transpired. A small bit of an inky substance began to pool at the bottom of the test tube. Her superiors were there within moments.

It was not made public, but the company took to the discovery like a dog to a bone. It was small, but rubbery, and capable of handling extreme stresses beyond normal material means, and naturally, they made more. It was dubbed, perhaps arrogantly, Monger Material. But unknown to them, they'd tapped into something they couldn't understand. Something that could understand them.

Three days after its creation, it was being held in an airless container to prevent any contamination until they could prepare more tests. Dr. Dunn, who despite her discoveries had been shafted onto the night shift, couldn't help but feel a connection to the thing, almost maternally speaking. So, as such, when a surprise power outage occurred, she was quick to make sure it was okay, rushing into the chamber. She would never be the same after this.

Hours later, a mechanic named Collin Biggs was called in to look into the outage. There was no obvious cause, so he began inspecting the many nooks and crannies of the warehouses for any signs, his only light being a flashlight. He was the next victim, and the one that provided it a way out.

Monger's head honcho, Dr. Rolf Ibsen, was outraged and terrified the next morning to see that his most precious of resources, and two people he had recently paid, were missing. He started organizing searches and contacting the authorities, but before he could, he was informed of a news report. A young child living in the nearby neighborhoods was missing. The child's mother provided a rather weird story for the culprit, an inky-black shadow that vanished from her son's window. The headman stopped mid-dial, and began instead calling in his department heads. Something had happened, and they needed to know what.

I'm too tired to share thoughts right now, but I will throw in some small quality edits and details in tommorrow. Til then, enjoy the first real KAS piece I've had in a while.

Ah, truly a case of "Good People, Evil Powers" trope at work with this one.
And frankly, it works damn well here. The Morality of Man in the destructive body of a true monster. I can see multiple moral dilemma's and plot threads going with this. This also offers numerous paths for character interaction and the like between both monsters and humans and it will definitely be interesting how the various factions deal with this character or how it deals with them.
Certainly a character that can change up the pace in a group setting such as KAS, we have a bunch of characters in the "good" categories, but due to philosophies, origins, etc. they may not see eye to eye, which I am LOVING. Creates a whole new gray area rather than just black and white, good and evil we have been seeing for the majority of KAS. Certainly interesting when these "good" characters with different philosophies eventualy come together...

This is a pretty interesting critter. I really like the huge hands and the random chest teeth. I just love the way this guy looks, and not to mention how it "works" and thinks. He should be a fun one to work with.

I'm hoping so myself. Assuming I can get into the habit of working with him regularly enough.

This is a very intriguing premise, we got some good ole 'catch the fugitive' style scenario here along with the prevalent danger that came with classic 'Hulk'. It's actually a neat fusion of the two that's taken Monsterman in a new direction than when he was last seen as a pure Ultra-expy. So far he has a motherly doctor, an honest working man and a child inside of him. Let's just hope he stays away from prisons and gang run slums because then the world could be in some serious danger if he absorbed too many of such people. God forbid he wander into an asylum.

You should be quite pleased with how his growth will affect his stance with monsters and men alike.

Oh my goodness this is VERY neat! Do hope to see more of this kaiju. Didn't you once have plans for a series about him or some sort?

Well, yes and no. He was made to exist as a fictional character in Dark Hours. Kind of a story within a story. I did plan out a few adventures for him, though.

Not very often where an assimilating monster is actually a good guy. With the amount of potential he has, he'll make a great new main KAS kaiju for you.

Assuming I can find the time to crank out a cohesive story, here's to hoping you're right.
