There's a base model that I worked from which was edited to look like this and then posed.
DAZ|Studio works pretty much like Poser in that respect.
I didn't create the initial mesh though.

The wardrobe textures were modified by me, but are purchased items created by someone else. The character mesh is originally Aiko from DAZ3d.com with my own modifications.
