About Arryn Hall
Arryn Hall is an old fort comlpetly built out of wood, with lots of norse carvings and ornaments, and after historical research is dated to be more than 700 years old. It took many restaurations to keep it upright and there's still more room for improvements. The outlines of the building can be roughly seperated into two apartment sectors and the big, open hall connecting both of them like a giant inner courtyard.
Arryn Hall was named after the one and only king who had ever lived in it, who wasn't even a real king but let's be honest, it's still super cool, right? The "Hall" in the name is to believed to come from the westgermanic word for "dried out", refering to the River who seasonally dried out during the time when people still optained salt from it. The river, being connected to the sea not so far away, holds plenty of salt recources and was the reason some of the clans became devilishly wealthy. Changes in the enviroment lead to a more narrowed entry into the sea, which caused the whole river to become more fresh uptream. The cattle now profits from that.

History
Before Arryn Hall got his name, the old building served as a palace and longhouse for the Jarl Arryn, Son of Arryn, who had ordered the built not soon before he was announced king of the stronghold. The mountains and the land surrounding the wooden construction belonged to 3 clans, and Jarl Arryn belonged to the wealthiest of them. It was a strategic location that should give his men an advantage when it comes to a siege. Set high on a hill with the backsite guarded by a steep cliff, the building was almost impossible to overtake. Easy access to the nearby river that connects directly to the sea granted fast supply income and created a harbor that connects to almost every shore of the world. The year counts 1034 AC, after 60 years the enduring construction phase was completed . After all this time Jarl Arryn still reigned the small piece of land with a very small population that had unofficially announced him king. Even when he was old, the King ordered enormeus festivities in the main hall much like when he was younger. In his late 80's, the King was defeated by Christians who blamed him for being a pagan and an unofficial king, which was an insult to their 'rightful' roman king. Despite every effort, Jarl Arryn was defeated easily, and the last remaining peasants of his small army went on to live with the christians. The Building stood empty for a decade before a monastery was created inside the walls. The massive building served as a home for christian monks more than two centurys before the last of them died alone in his bed. Why the monastery waned away as easily as that is unclear. Some say the black death found it's way to the north and through the thick wooden walls. For the next centuries the building was forgotten and the wooden beams rottet away with time. The last remaining wooden structures were restored when the land was bought, the building rediscovered in 1880, and after many historical researches named Arryn Hall, in remembrance to the long passed Jarl Arryn. Today the building is almost completly rebuilt, and only a few original structures could be saved from the rotting tooth of time. While almost every part of the building is new, some parts date back all the way to 1200AC, which theoreticallyΒ  makes the building almost 700 years old. Modern dorms, bathrooms, 2 kitchens and stable buildings were added through time.

Today
In todays day (which is still in the 1800's in this case) Arryn hall became the home of a handfull of people, more than a dozen horses, and an army departmend that houses a 50-headed Cavalry.

just incredible. I love the single detail of it. The combination of vikings and lord of the rings is just midblowing! dAng, if I only could visit this kind of place daaaawwwwww T_T also the post to ready the horses, I can imagine this preperation with lots of brown old looking harness and saddles, the way horses are snorting, shaking their necks and a cloud of cool air gets from their nostrills.. oh and of course the handsome bearded and hairy men standing next to them with a sigar maybe and having a low voiced talk before the ride in a field
