I believe quite a few things are not correct in this image (light-wise), but nevertheless, I like it very much.I appreciate constructive criticism
This started out as an attempt to make a Mad Hatter Wallpaper like I saw it in the movie previews from the new Burton film with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter:

denkt man doch nur an edward mit den scherenhänden, mit dem zerschnittenen gesicht und dieser eigenen verletzlichkeit

Nice use of shadows to add to the photo/illustration reality/unreality.
You can adjust shadows that overlap two objects (as in the top right hat which shadows onto both the framed print and the background). Just select the shadowed layer and choose Layer > Layer Style > Create Layers.
You can duplicate the "shadow" layer to adjust position and density for a closer or further object, then select and delete the unwanted parts on both shadow layers to complete the effect.
This makes more layers and a larger psd file, but it's a good way to enhance the illusion.
I also love the lime green background!

Ah, thank you very much, I hadn´t even noticed that! Although I am at a loss how to change that in Gimp (in which I made the image), because there are no such commands in Gimp. And I guess I do not really know how this would look correctly

Hehehe yeah but most of his films aren't fantasy. Johnny's films have so many special effects I personally would be dying to know what the finished product looks like. Like when he gets tied up by a giant octopus! But nuu...
