I just returned from a six day course on landscape painting in northern Finland , so finally there's new stuff to submit. Hurrah. And I'm now back in Internet's reach too! Yay.

This is my pride and joy. Painted completely on location (proof: [link] ) in two days, except for the vegetation in lower left corner, which I finished from memory in the studio. It's a river called Nilo in Kuusamo, Finland. Oil on canvas board 61 * 50 cm. I've never before painted moving water, but I like the way it turned out.

The teacher called this one "pretty", and that's not the usual adjective people use to describe my stuff. And it makes me so proud I'll learn to do "pretty" and then I'll do something "hideous", "heavy" and "avant garde" which will be a little bit more difficult to digest, but will prove beneficial to everyone in the long run .. ummm. Well, here's the work.
