Description
Hot breath covered your face a second before a large wet tongue licked your cheek. Without opening your eyes, you wiped off your cheek and rolled over. “Pluto, what are you doing? It's not time to be awake yet, go back to sleep. We can play later.” Hoping he'd listen, you relaxed into your new sleeping position and yawned.

You felt your bed move and shake for a couple of seconds before Pluto dropped his chin onto your shoulder. He gently nuzzled at you, whining quietly into your ear.

Knowing he wasn't going to leave you alone until he'd gotten what he wanted, you rolled over again and stared at him with sleepy eyes. “Plu, it's still dark outside.” You yawned again, so tired you were barely able to see straight. “What in the world do you want?”

He was immediately sitting up and wagging his tail. With a loud bark he jumped off of your bed and drew back the curtains. Panting excitedly he jumped back in your bed, bit the sleeve of your night dress and tried to pull you towards the window.

“No, I don't want to get out of bed, it's cold.” Forgetting just how strong he was, you tried in vain to pull your sleeve away from him. After a full five minutes of struggling, you gave in. “Fine, I'll get up, but this had better be good.” You flung your legs over the side of the bed to get up, only to have Pluto lift you into his arms and run you to your window. A few weeks ago, he'd picked up the strange habit of carrying you just about everywhere. Having him pick you up was a bit scary at first, but after realizing that you weren't going to be able to stop him from doing it, you learned to relax and enjoy the special treatment. “I don't know what you want me to see. It's dark out there, so I can't see whatever it is you're trying to show me.”

Pluto placed your bare feet on the cold floor and whimpered again. He was trying to tell you something, but when his only speech consisted of barks, whines and whimpers, he wasn't going to get very far.

“I'm sorry, but I don't understand you.” Falling asleep while standing, you placed your hand behind his ear and rubbed gently. “You can show me in the morning okay? For now, why don't we both get some sleep? Maybe when my brain isn't tired I'll understand you better.” Foolishly thinking he'd obey you, you dropped your hand away from his ear and began walking back towards your bed. Before you could reach it however, Pluto had you in his arms again. He quickly picked up your slippers and an overcoat before carrying you to the front door. “No, no, we are not going outside.”

Ignoring you completely, Pluto messily helped you put on your coat and shoes. He smiled a wide closed eye smile as he grabbed hold of the doorknob and pulled open the heavy wooden door. An icy, bone chilling wind blew inside the second the door was cracked.

Pulling your coat tightly around your body, you shook your head. “We are not going out there. You're wearing nothing but a pair of pants. You will freeze, to death.”

Pluto grabbed your hand, let out a loud bark and ran outside.

The wind was a thousand times worse now that you were outside with nothing to help break or block it. “Why, why won't you listen to me Plu? You want us to get pneumonia, or the flu, or something worse. Is that it? You want us to get sick, and die? I know you can turn into a giant dog, so you won't be cold, but I can't do that. I'm freezing.”

As you were busy ranting, Pluto picked you up again and held you close. He rubbed his nose in your neck and gently pulled at your ear, hoping to calm you down. It worked, and much better than you wanted to admit.

You let out a snort and crossed your arms. “Okay fine, I overreacted a little. But it really is freezing out here.” Him holding you warmed you quite a lot, but the lower half of your body was already starting to go numb. Something cold and wet touched your cheek, then your nose, lips and chin. At first you thought Pluto had drooled on you, but as the cold droplets fell faster and faster, you knew that couldn't be right “W-wait a second, what was that? It isn't. Put me down, quick.”

Pluto finally obeyed you and placed you back on your feet. Since it was far too dark for you to see, you dropped down to your knees and placed your hands on the ground. Amazed by what you felt, you didn't notice what Pluto was doing. He'd scooped up a large amount of the snow that covered the ground and threw it straight at you. Unfortunately he didn't know to pat down the snow, so the moment he released it, it broke apart and fell to the ground. He tried this several times before you finally noticed.

“You brought me out here to see the snow.” Standing up, you focused your eyes on him, allowing you to see him struggling to make a snowball. The puzzled look on his face caused you to giggle. “Here, let me help you.” Though you tried to teach him, he just couldn't grasp the concept. Every time he'd try to pack down the snow, he would end up breaking the snowball completely. “You'll get it Plu, you just have to be a bit more gentle.” You tossed the snowball around in your hands for a second as you watched him try again. Unable to resist the urge any longer, you drew your arm back and threw the snowball directly at his face.

A little surprised, Pluto stood perfectly still until he realized what happened. The snowball had only excited him more. He suddenly dropped down to all fours and in the blink of an eye, transformed into a massive white hell hound.

Your eyes widened at the sight. Though you knew it was only Pluto, his glowing red eyes still caused your heart to skip a beat. Not sure what he was about to do, you took several small steps away from him. “W-whoa Pluto, I don't think that's really necessary, do you?”

He answered you with a long, loud howl. The ground beneath you shook as he turned away from you and lowered his front end to the ground. Looking back at you, he made a sound that sounded almost like a snicker. Giving you no time to run away, Pluto widened his stance and pressed his front paws into the snow, scooping up massive amounts and flinging them back at you.

Just one giant scoop of snow was more than enough to knock you over, flat onto your back. “No, Plu-Plu, you're going to bury me alive!” The snow filled your jacket, chilling you all the way through, but Pluto didn't stop until almost your entire body had been buried in the snow. He pranced over to you and licked your bright red cheek with his tongue. “Are you happy now?”

After letting out a bark to confirm, Pluto bit into the collar of your jacket and lifted you out of the snow. Seeing your jacket was covered, along with your shoes, hair and night dress, Pluto shook his head while still holding you in his mouth, hoping to shake off some of the snow.

“Whoa there boy, you're making me dizzy. Why don't we just go inside?” Thankfully he listened. Once at the front pouch, he released your jacket from his mouth and shook the snow off of his fur. “You can't come inside like that you know. You'll make a huge mess, and Sebastian will get angry.”

Whimpering at the idea of making Sebastian angry, Pluto changed back into his naked human form and walked inside.

Averting your eyes from his nudity, you walked inside, took your shoes off by the door and dropped your soaked, snow covered jacket to the ground.“We really have to do something about you being naked all the time.” Pluto ran off without a sound and came back wearing a pair of Bards pants. “Does Bard know you're stealing his clothes?”

Pluto didn't answer, he simply picked you up and carried you to the fireplace, where there was a small dying fire. After throwing a few small logs on the fire, he grabbed a large fleece blanket wrapped you up in it and dropped down to the floor. He looked up at you with begging eyes and whimpered.

“I really should go get dry. But I can't leave you when you're looking at me like that.” Knowing you'd been defeated, you joined him on the ground and snuggled up close. "Thanks for showing me the snow Plu-Plu. It was nice." Though you'd only planned to stay like that a few minutes, you began drifting off to sleep the very moment your head touched his chest. “Sebastian's, going to yell at us.”

Instead of being worried, Pluto simply snuggled you closer, kissed your cheek and fell asleep with you in his arms.
