This little guy was such a pain to photograph. Everytime I tried to get close he'd move on the opposite side of the branch so I couldn't see him. But hoho I out smarted him. I used my hand to distract him from the rest of me and when he tried to get away from my hand he was in my line of view. I wish I could have gotten closer to him, but I was lucky to photograph him at all. ENJOY!!Related content

I think one of the main reasons bugs and insects are so hard to photograph is most of them are deaf - they can pick up even the most seemingly inaudible "sound" with their tiny bodies. Shutters must absolutely terrify them....that said, I wonder if some sort of "white noise" could distract them so we can get better photos of em? Something mostly silent, maybe very distant static or a buzzing iPhone?

Ahhhhhh, dearie, you're after my heart, you know that?? I am just so ridiculously fond of praying mantises, and this is a gorgeous shot! Bugs sure can be tricky, but you've done a wonderful job of it, and it really paid off! The out-of-focus BG's colors bring the little guy into perfect contrast, and it's really just a masterful shot all around.

But awwww, I'm actually a huge bug fanatic, I love just about everything~ hell, I even love cockroaches and flies! So yeah, your bug photos have been a ton of fun for me to browse through, hahaha.
Praying mantises hold a special place in my heart though, since they're just so sleek and special and nowadays they're so hard to find~ ;v;
