I basically draw pencil lineart, scan it and then color it in Gimp... I now always add a texture layer so the final results looks less flat...

How do you like Gimp? I have a programmer friend who is into open source stuff who has talked about it in the past, but I've always had the luxury of having Photoshop. Just curious as to what you think of it.

I really like it... It probably doesn't offer ALL of Photoshop's functions but I'm very happy playing with it and, like your friend, I like the concept of open source... I feel absolutely no real need to get Photoshop, that's probably the best indicator!

AH! finally a science fiction theme! love the suit, it reminds me a bit of polaris and mission to mars. the helmet kinda looks like a cantaloupe (cos of the colour?) and the rest are really well done. good grip on the sf setting too

I worked on the flight-suit with old American and Soviet models as references... Especially liked the Soviet stuff... The recent Chinese spacesuit also looked nice...

The suit is really more a flight-suit than a spacesuit, I don't think it would fare very well in prolonged exposure to deep space... I was really shooting more for looks rather than realism, the thing is way too thin to be practical... Ah, the sacrifices one must endure to look good!
I'm not much of an anime connaisseur, so Idon't know a thing about "planetes"... Is it something recent?

fantastic. I love how your art, the characters you create, seem to have something more to them than just being a pretty picture. You always seem to give these tidbits of information that makes the characters so much more powerful...just a few words--nothing to even constitute a backstory--but enough to make the character have...depth. To send a vivid imagination on flights of fancy and give the view a desire to know more about her.

It really really ads to the picture. It makes the drawings much more than just pin-ups...they have personality, and stories, just under the surface. Oh...plus, they're freeking GORGEOUS 'cause you're a kick a** artist.

Fantastique travail. C'est vraiment de mieux en mieux. J'aime beaucoup la composition, avec l'angle de vue penché sur le côté, et la position de la fille qui nous laisse deviner la créature, mais pas la voir entièrement. J'aime également beaucoup la position du personnage, et le design de sa combinaison. Les tatouages, à eux seuls, situent l'action dans un univers légèrement différent de celui d'"Alien".
Les couleurs sont très réussies, comme d'habitude, mais je me demande si elles ne pourraient pas être légèrement plus sombres, pour renforcer l'ambiance. Quant à la fille, elle n'a vraiment pas l'air de se faire beaucoup de souci, on devine donc qu'elle ne va pas tarder à se faire tailler en pièces!

Ça faisait quelques fois que je voyais des photos avec des perspectives inclinées et que je me disais que je devrais utiliser quelque chose de semblable... Je crois qu'un vaisseau spatial flottant dans le vide interstellaire se montrait une bonne opportunité...
Je suis pas mal content de la combinaison: je me suis plus particulièrement inspiré de vieux modèles soviétiques ...
Et tu as raison, j'aurais aimé que la scène soit passablement plus sombre, mais j'ai toujours eu de gros problèmes à dessiner la noirceur... Je devrais me forcer à travailler là-dessus...

S'il est de n'importe quelle consolation a toi, j'aime la couleur et l'humeur. Il fait l'image ressembler a l'expression de la fille, tout le calcul, aucune emotion. Il essaye d'indiquer, "C'est ce qui se produit, et il n'y a rien a davantage savoir a son sujet."
