right, so to commemorator forge worlds upcoming series of Horus Heresy rulebooks (emperor have mercy on my bank account) the wealthiest of our 7 strong group have been discussing what legions we will be selecting

i have selected thousand sons, because they're red and gold and Egyptian looking and kick ass psykers. that crossed with the new scimitar pattern jetbikes and they're basically flying psykic rape trains

~Talos2110 chose night lords, i guess because he likes bowdens night lord series, and who wouldn't want curze running round the board?

~Gravinius went for world eaters, there was absolutely no way in the eye of terror he wasn't going to, he'll be the first one to get a primarch most likely, and what a primarch he'll be. i can only imagine how unimaginably angry gravinius must be at this point, a lunatic turned lunatic just can't be good

ah now here's the first appearance of an important member of our group, who has never received a character because he uses salamanders and that doesn't allow me to make a character that has the autonomy and authority the others have, he doesn't have a dA and i won't call him by name, so i'll refer to him as the unvictorious (as the poor sod seems to never win a game. ever. not that that stops him trying, the trooper).
anyway he went for salamanders because, like i said, he already does them, so there's no great leap going on here

we also worked out that although a lot of the codex' aren't valid in the 31st setting, they can be tweaked so that they are. while all space marine codex' are out, the tau aren't yet knocking around, and the sisters of battle not yet formed, races like the necrons and tyranids were in fact active in small numbers, thus they could be used so long as none of their characters are (with the POSSIBLE exception of the swarmlord and trazyn, but i'll be happy to discuss that at greater length if you like). the orks were of course massively active in the 31st, so again they can be used without issue so long as they don't have the same named characters.

as a result ~Crypticcoke can still use his necrons (except for damn immotek) given that necrons haven't changed in several million years.

~t6o9m1 and ~rivanking4 are a little bit trickier, for neither of them are particularly avid gamers, and can in no way, shape or form muster the METRIC FUCK TONNE of money that will be required to build a proper heresy legion. so they can stick with orks, and just for nostalgia and fairness i included their characters, with a few 'minor' alterations to get in this mindset of things.
