I hope I'm not too naïve in believing that, for the most part, everyone is equipped with a moral code of some sort.
I mean, there's definitely a sliding scale as to how comprehensive that code might be, or how aware of it one is, and there's most certainly a LOT of leeway in how closely one abides by it, and how much of it is self-enforced, self-regulated, and what one allows to not bother with.
Apologies are a tough one. Admitting you're wrong, or admitting wrongdoing--especially if there's a chance that not doing so will bring about no consequence--is often a real test of will.
Point is, sometimes your conscience demands satisfaction. Sometimes expressing remorse or regret or gratitude demands a formal rite of declaration.
At least it does for Gogo here. And she's not going to allow herself to be let off the hook without speaking her piece because, dammit, that. Is. WRONG.

Admitting that you've done something wrong is often a VERY hard thing to do.
Sometimes, people avoid apologizing, because when you've done something wrong when you KNOW you could do better, apologizing may seem like an insult.
But yet, you still have to try, even if their are consequences, because in that admittance, shows a person's true strength....

I don't know if this was intentional.
But it honestly looks more like Gogo is about is claw our eyes out with her thumbnail rather than her reaching out to shake hands.

"Oh, so after all that drama you just wanted to say 'thanks'. You could've started from there."
I see Andy wanting more than a "thank you" (like an explanation)

Should you really be explaining how Andy and gogo met though? A relationship is like Doc and Marty in Back to the Future. You don't necessarily have to explain how they became friends you just understand that they are.

I hear you, and I definitely thought about that quite a bit before beginning this.
"How they met" could have been accomplished just as a story arc, and in that case, it might have been fun, but not really necessary. And like you say, the content of them just "being" gets chained to an origin story that didn't need to be told in the first place.
Maybe that could still end up being the case, in the big picture. I don't really know how people will judge things in the long run. The reason I decided to start this story where I did is because while the ultimate destination of the story isn't certain, this story isn't being told with the purpose of ending up where we originally began.
In time, the story won't just be a look backwards, but forward as well. And this beginning doesn't just explain how things came to be, but brings along elements that will be important to what happens next and beyond.
If that makes sense

Ultimately, it's not a question of "should". It's a question of what the author wants to do with his story. And while I agree that origin stories aren't exactly necessary—and are, in fact, quite often overdone and trite—I often find that the start of the story's narrative is often dictated by the story itself.
In this case, we've already deviated somewhat from the comics from years ago; not just in Gogo's physiology (iirc, the claw-nails came about as a result of the Ego Generosity arc due to what I assume was an excessive power spike following her compression), but also from the general relationship of the supporting cast. But, although the previous comics and arcs did serve to explore and expand the characters and their relationships and inner workings, there hasn't been any sort of overarching story until now. Everything up until now has been essentially brainstorming.
To me, it feels sort of like questioning the purpose of a novel after getting two chapters in. Don't ask him why he took the back road to the highway instead of going straight through town. Let him spin his tale and see where he takes us. Enjoy the ride.

I'm liking the new design of Gogo. She's still physically imposing, her arms and legs are still very large and strong, but she's also curvy now, and not ripped like a steroid abuser. Additional dimensions do wonders for character design, as well as for character personality.

I liked that version of gogo particularly because Vanheist didn't just go for the typical body builder look. Gogo was built more like a fighter than a person made for the stage. She had a look that implied: "Yes, she can lunge at you and beat you faster than you can blink." She looked like she wouldn't be out of place in a fighting game. (#FGCBomango ) If anything, I'd be down for seeing that form of her again.

Now that I think of it, maybe it's a stealth form. Particularly less beefy than she usually is to fit in, just not that super unstable petite form from the earlier comics.

Good stuff.

It's not that naive, I have a similar quirk. If someone does right by me, I try to return the favor or pay it forward. Then again, I just like helping people in general, if I can. However, I never will, if owed, call in favors. I usually forget about them. >w<

I LOVE how you did NO and Wrong! They show they accent on them, the weight of them very well! I assume Andy will shake hands, and Gogo goes off as if everything is done... for now, anyway.. But, on the other hand, Andy IS a teenager, so he may just snub Gogo all snarky like.
Great job on this! The art is amazing, and a very captivating story!
