I hope I'm not too naïve in believing that, for the most part, everyone is equipped with a moral code of some sort.
I mean, there's definitely a sliding scale as to how comprehensive that code might be, or how aware of it one is, and there's most certainly a LOT of leeway in how closely one abides by it, and how much of it is self-enforced, self-regulated, and what one allows to not bother with.
Apologies are a tough one. Admitting you're wrong, or admitting wrongdoing--especially if there's a chance that not doing so will bring about no consequence--is often a real test of will.
Point is, sometimes your conscience demands satisfaction. Sometimes expressing remorse or regret or gratitude demands a formal rite of declaration.
At least it does for Gogo here. And she's not going to allow herself to be let off the hook without speaking her piece because, dammit, that. Is. WRONG.

I agree. Just about everyone has a moral code of some sort. Most of the time, that moral code is fairly familiar (i.e. don't be a dick), but there's definitely some individuals who have a very different sense of morality than others, such as Youtube commenters and 4channers.

She's probably going to take him go-karting after several shady stops in the 'bad' part of town to get money for said go-karting extravaganza. Who l knows, there may even be a bit left over to play some skee-ball!

....Man, that POV shot in the last panel really drives home what Andy's dealing with here. At that distance, there's no mistaking "Oh she's just got long fingernails", those are claws. There's no "Is something wrong with her face", she's scarred all the way to her shoulder.
How many of us would actually take that offered hand? Hesitatingly? At all?

Important to note here that, despite arranging her hair and adopting a more outgoing attitude, Gogo is well aware of what Andy can see in front of him. The hand isn't being offered only to square things up.
