Description
Hey there, folks! Happy Thanksgiving to all you celebrating today!Last year, I began drawing a comic for the occasion that I wasn't able to finish in time, then this year remembered I had started it, and only just squeaked it in at the last minute (it was supposed to be finished for a Monday update, hehe).
Fellow MiSTies may recognize this bit as a sketch from Mystery Science Theater 3000's Thanksgiving variant episode of "Night of the Blood Beast", originally performed by Mike Nelson, Trace Beaulieu, and Kevin Murphy. This is a Bomango adaptation of the sketch, which stays pretty true to the original, albeit with more "hams", BFGs, and Potato-Beasts.
Of course, it wouldn't be a proper Thanksgiving centerpiece for the table without me expressing my sincere thanks for the commentary, support, and readership of Viewers Like You. Whether you've chipped in via Patreon, or simply enjoyed my work, whether you're a longtime reader or a newcomer, thanks so much!
And have a happy Thanksgiving!
- van

There is nothing about this strip that I don't love. Stuffing FTW.

I love potatoes but I guess I can't argue with such scientific rigor.

Didi is the whole package deal of combining an acid, a base, and a salt-shaker, with said salt-shaker also filled with pop rocks. She's so sweet she'll give you cavities.
That aside, I simply must have her "Safety First" sign for my chemistry lab! Happy Turkey Day, Van, and the same to your awesome cast!

Good God, Van! You've written Didi as a delusional schizophrenic. Paranoia and all. Poor girl is clearly deranged and is in dire need of psychotherapy. Ha! Just kidding, Van.
This comic is actually ingeniously funny and rather clever, indeed. Positively guffaw inducing.
When you suffer from depression/anxiety and are constantly dejected, moments of levity are a veritable 'god send'. You have provided me with that moment of levity and for that, you have my esteemed gratitude. Thank you. I really needed a good laugh today.

Pablo looking suspiciously like Micheal Douglas in the film, Falling Down....you might want to keep an eye on the little guy...
And of course, the question of stuffing versus potato depends on elaboration. Is it mashed potato? Because that's nice, but nothing special to write home about. But if its a roasted potato, than that. All. The. Time!
Awesome comic and brilliant reference to MST3K, thank you.

I have been reading more and more of your wonderful Bomango work over the last few weeks, and love the characters. This one really raised my spirits today, which i am grateful for! Didi is so good as a truly mad scientist, either of the Frankenstein type (in which case run for cover) or the Emmett Brown type (in which case, run for the delorean!). The art work of this is really crisp, and Andy works as a perfect foil for her shenanigans. I am guessing by this point this is just a normal Thursday for him? i am looking forward to more of the comics and wish you all the best.

She's not dead, shes just not alive.
I wasn't dead in the 60s, i just wasn't alive yet.
She just hasn't popped out of Gogo's hip yet; like the jolly, hyper intelligent, gay xenomorph that she is.

Love the mad scientific drama of potatoes versus stuffing. Pablo is an adorable assistant.
Especially seeing him flying through the air with the "safety first" sign in the background.
But can't forget potatoes because the mashed potatoes and gravy are
a staple of Thanksgiving.

Does anyone here know of a way to zoom in on deviations without the resolution making the image look super blurry on the DeviantArt mobile app? I want to read this super badly, but my computer is broken and my phone is the only other option that I have.
From what I can make out, the illustration here is top quality.

Have you tried going on the internet on your phone and going to the website instead of the app?

ToasterStrooder In reply to crazyman54 [2017-11-23 21:14:36 +0000 UTC]
I've done that before. The results are certainly better, but not the best. It's also rather inconvenient to alternate between two apps for using the same website. Of course, neither option is without really annoying inconveniences, so there's trouble to be had no matter what.
I probably will do the safari thing for this. Thank you for the response and for reading my ramblings about my first world problems.
