Just a little reminder, everybody. Break out those lavender bandanas if you've got 'em, tape your mouth shut if you have to...but please, support the cause. Even if you aren't gay, lesbian, transexual or anything, don't we all know what oppression feels like?No one should have to be scared to be in love. No one should have to worry about being themselves.

I had never heard of this day and since I read the comments I know what it is and what it means. Today I found an old letter from a friend from high school that I never read before and now I can't say anything about it to him. This day sound important and since I'm a big talker at times I probably would just talk as much as usual until I heard of this day. All the things you could have said and done. Life is tough when you don't know what choice to make and when you think back you might like the choice you made but what if you chose another path? I like what this day celebrate and I hope that I can participate in it even if I just stay home. Is it not amazing what you miss? Why must we lose it to understand how much we loved it in the first place? I wish that I kept in contact with my high school friends, even if it is just phone conversation. I still miss the ma lot and I actually cried today when I found that letter. Thank you for this. I will stay silent the next time it is April 13th.

I think that's exactly what Day of Silence is about...making us realize what we miss when we can't talk to people or connect with them for some reason. I think talkative people like you are the best participants...people really notice when you clam up for 24 hours~!
People don't notice the barriers they put up against others...this, I think, raises awareness of that. Good luck~! (It's hard...I'm talkative too and it was a real challenge to do...)
...As one last aside, it's not always on the same day, but it's always on a Wednesday and I think always in April. Check their website to see when the next one is being held^_^

It is so true, what you said there... Luckily, the most adorable couple in my school has finally said 'screw it' to the ones who might harass them and are now showing their love for each other just as much as a straight couple.

Lovely art, my I use it for this year? (Credited to you of course) Me and many of my friends participate in the Day of Silence everyear since 7th grade. Though most of us arnt gay or anything it still means alot of us.
