Let me let you in on my tricks of the trade
I use mostly white pencil (a pretty thick pencil since I'm too lazy to sharpen it into a small tip. That's why it looks like crayon) and I also use a little bit of black pencil. Blended in with the white it gives a bit of a grayish colour
