The Final Architecture Trilogy is a series by Adrian Tchaikovsky and I would 100% recommend for anyone who enjoys smart sci-fi, action, a sprinkle of adventure, with core pillars of post apocalypse tragedy and a rag-tag crew of spacers caught up in all the chaos.

I mean guys - c'mon - a rag-tag crew of spacers should sell anyone on a series and this one especially with very diverse characters.

Keristina Soolin Almier - or Kris to her friends and the readers - is a kickass lawyer and duelist who is described as basically a natural beauty without being vain.

In the series - the planet where top notch lawyers are trained in basically galactic and interspecies law and order, there is an old (totally illegal and frowned upon but also very acceptable under the right circumstances) tradition of dueling an opponent to settle a matter outside of the court. Kris is superior both in and out of court - and her blade skills are unmatched - but the scar on her neck speaks of an event that stopped her career in its tracks and lead her to join the crew of the Vulture God: spacers who salvage wrecks and return them for a price.

I personally imagine her as decendant of perhaps the area of Nepal on Old Earth - however due to being a spacer you don't get a lot of the good ol' radiation to feed into the deeper rich tones of skin.

I'm not great at realism but I accept that I have an art style and this is how i imagined her. ♡
