Description
I wanted to capture the look and feel of a classical painting, specifically along the lines of Rembrandt's work. I couldn't manage the richness of an oil painting digitally, but I hope that some sense of richness is conveyed. This charming opossum belongs to Loiosh. The sumptuous couch is mostly of my own design, a few bits inspired from the Handbook of Ornamental Motifs.Related content

I would really love to have a large print of this that I can mat, frame and hang in my home. I have always loved this picture. I am a Wildlife Rehabber, and Opossums are my specialty. I've been known as the Possum Whisperer for many years. Please email me and tell me what sizes and prices are for this print.
Thank you and have a beautiful day.

I love how not only the feet of the furniture are opossum feet, but the padding of the sofa resemble the padding of the feet as well.

Being from the south, I know first hand opossums are nasty, evil animals that will bite your face off.
Good rendition though.

Great job on colors, details and proportions! Looks very realistic...but on the other side drawing an animal like that and posing it in a sexy pose = creepy!-.-

Ech. I don't like possums very much, even tho they live around where I do. I remender one time my mom had a little one in our catfood bowl. It just small enuff to fit in. I heard somewhere the possums like catfood the best. Guess thats ture. I've also heard they make pretty good stew, but I don't know. Possum stew. Sounds pretty eww to me.

I think that richness you're looking for could mostly be obtained by utilizing specialized texture brushes. Many artists are able to create digital works that mimic oil paintings in this way. The fur is really well rendered.
