Description
The Whirbird, clockwork hummingbird with gears, brass and nickel keyfeathers, a glass heart, and a touch of the Elsewhere.Original is really large, I think 18x24 inches, and is all colored pencil. The background was smashed in using Prismacolor Art Stix, which are pastel shaped chunks of woodless colored pencil lead.

Aw man rockin' taco a DD!!! Thank you, thank you! This is one of, or maybe my most! favorite pieces I've ever created, so it makes me happy that it gets the exposure.

Thank you for inspiring me to try traditional art again. I kept staring at this piece just going "oh my GOSH this is too beautiful for words" and it made me realize i almost forgot how beautiful coloured pencil work can be.
I never truly got into traditional, but... as amazing as digital art can be, it cannot replace traditional and never will imo

Takes your breath away just looking at this masterpiece. Your colouring lines are so delicate. The whole concept itself is beautiful, yet slightly dark...I don't know why I feel it's dark, but it can seem that way - it's beautifully dark

Besides being beautiful, it put me in mind of a roleplaying game. Like Dungeons & Dragons, I could see this amazing critter being the construct/familiar of a high level wizard/thief. Nifty cool!

Lovely. Absolutely lovely. The whole concept, the colour, your talent - the work put into it is obvious. The detail is what makes this piece to die for according to me. And this may sound funny but this piece AND your description of it really moved me. Like, I feel almost sad. No offence meant, but being a writer, seeing something that's beautiful always pushes me way further than I want to in the land of emotions

Wow. Who knew such beauty could be mechanical? But SHOULD such beauty be mechanical? Shouldn't we leave the finest things to nature? Has she not done well for the past millions of years?
