Description
After MUCH delay, I've "finished" my take on the picture done by FluxCapacitor100 months ago. And I say "finished" because I'm honestly not too satisfied with the way it looks overall. I feel like I botched the dragon, and once I finally got to the background it became brutally apparent that I have no idea how to do scenery. Lol.It's clear I still have a lot to learn with Illustrator (and art in general, really), but I wouldn't improve if I didn't make a few mistakes along the way. And while it didn't turn out nearly as nice as I had hoped, I am extremely happy with the way our OCs look. So I can be proud of that, at least.
Sorry again for taking so long, Flux. And thanks for including my Ponysona in your original picture!

I'm pleased to hear you like it. As long as you feel I did your original work some justice, then my mission was accomplished. XD
I still wish I could've done better, like added some more detail to the background (I think your background looks better than mine) or some different effects (for example, I was experimenting with using a blur effect on your OC to indicate movement instead of the gradient you see here, but couldn't implement it to my satisfaction). But whatever, just some room for improvement in the future.

definitely. it's actually more fun to improve rather than to be at the top of your game because you stop being impressed by yourself

Fair point. It is quite satisfying to look back and see how much you've improved over time. Some of my first drawings pale in comparison to what I can do now lol.
