Description
Is and always the First Lady of Fighting...When it comes to Street Fighter fan art, Chun-Li seems to be my main, despite my actually preferring either Cammy or Sakura for actual gameplay. While her Hyakuretsukyaku is easier to do now with a command as opposed to the (now optional) tapping of the kick buttons, a few of her other "command normal" kicks are easy for me to accidentally do, if my thumb veers close to a diagonal instead of a down directional command, so a lot of my low sweeps tend to mess up. I do practice with her from time to time!
This started off as a pencil sketch, which I scanned and colored in using Clip Studio Paint. I'm getting used to the tools and interface now, and I hope it shows a bit more in this piece. With a lot of my recent work, I have been opting to scan the raw pencils in, instead of inking the piece, digitally or otherwise. I feel there's a kind of "life" that my lines lose when I ink them, so I really respect people who can ink properly. If I'd the money, I might hire such an inker, but alas, that is quite a ways off still.
You might notice that, along with the Spider-Gwen piece, I'm doing some kind of"sunrise bloom" theme for these pieces. I'm playing with the lighting, in relation to another project I'm currently working on, so I've been using these as experimental practice pieces. I do tend to like having some kind of theme to play with over the course of a few pics, so I might do one or two more with this kind of lighting.
