"Kung Hei Fat Choi!" I drew this piece in order to celebrate the New Year back in 2005, but decided to go ahead and hold it off until the Chinese New Year, so the character would have more relevance. The biggest challenge I faced was placing the phoenix onto the character's dress, which I am glad it worked out rather nicely. Another thing is that when I scanned the image in color, my pencil shading came out blue for some reason. I had to go back in using Photoshop to return the grayscale to the pencil shading.
