hehe. Very cute.
You know, on a side-rant, why do they have to set their phasers to stun? Shouldn't they be on stun all the time unless officers specifically set them to kill? And frankly, for security's sake, it should take a little forethought to set the phaser to kill. Like, you should have to flip a few buttons. I mean, I just think it's a design flaw to have the phasers on bone-melting mode all the time, and the captain has to shout "don't forget to set your phasers to stun" in order to change that.
Actually, what would be really funny is if the phasers were always automatically on the "heat rocks" setting

maybe there is another setting no one talks about? and it is super lame. therefore to do anything, they have to set it to stun or kill.

It's the lens flare setting! Β That's why there's so many, cos the default setting is BLINDING LENS FLARE RIGHT IN YOUR EYES.

Maybe it's the stop-and-shut-up setting. Β Like a bit of an electric shock or something.
Or maybe it is the "heat rocks" setting XD

I think it was more of a nod to the TOS than anything else. A lot of reviewers for nuTrek had a huge squee over how many "classic Trek" phrases were included in the movie - stuff like "our gravitational sensors are going crazy," "Message from Starfleet, Captain," etc.
