Hard to believe the old M3 is still in service nearly a century after it's introduction to the Imperial Military yet the weapon itself has little need for updates due to the weapon's near spotless record by all who wield the deadly weapon.However that does not mean an occasional update is not required as the weapon's internals were slowly upgraded by the latest technology to keep the weapon in top form despite her advanced age. A new cooling system for instance allows the barrel to fire without risk of warping while the original power indicator above the weapon trigger was removed. As for the scope a simple Gen-2 Red Dot Scope has proven rather effective by many within the Imperial Military and a Dogma Foregrip was added later on for added stability.
Still one would be surprised that many of the M3s still in the Armory are older than their parents and may have been in the hands of their Grandparents once upon a time as well. For this the M3 is jokingly referred to as "the Work Horse of the Empire" due to the weapon's reliability and use with little signs of stopping.
