very very nice theme. I was wondering if there was anyway we could or you could create another mod so that the two additional bars on the taskbar are removed. There's a little too much confusion on the taskbar.

You should try the alternate taskbar then

yeah i'm in the process of learning how to edit theme files. I'm good with image editing i'm just having trouble learning how to extract, and add things into themes.

what i meant is that i like the simple taskbars with no gradients or lines in them, just plain and evenly transparent. Thanks for the comment tho, and as i said very nice theme

I can't seem to get the themes to show up in the customization window (right click desktop > Personalize > Theme > ?) but I can fire it up manually by going to the location where you install it and clicking the file itself.
Anyone else have this issue or am I just a noob?
(Wouldn't be surprised if it were the latter).
Thanks in advance!

tanchannelmckenzie In reply to Vathanx [2008-11-24 22:11:21 +0000 UTC]
i did and it just looks like a grey version of the normal shellstyle
i mean the one with the image previews etc on the left of the explorer

Not sure what do you mean. When you apply to whole vs you don't have to do anything else concerning the look of the windows explorer

took a bit of doing to to get transparancy, but it works awesomely now, thx!

Vathanx In reply to Chyandum [2008-11-02 11:51:24 +0000 UTC]
How did you set up the transparency? I'm interested in it, as I'm creating a brand new vs
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Chyandum In reply to Vathanx [2008-11-02 15:42:43 +0000 UTC]
I loaded em up with TuneUp, and at first that didn't give me transparancy, but it seems like it loads two version, one thats transparent and one thats not, the AT version being not transparent, so I used the other one, rebooted and presto!
one question tho, now when I get messages through msn or xfire, the icons in the tastbar don't blink (normally they go to orange and back when you get an IM), do you think this will work in your next VS?
other than that, awesome work, this is what my desktop looks like right now: [link]
on the left is my main monitor, and on the right is my smaller secondary monitor with the taskbar and everything
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Vathanx In reply to Chyandum [2008-11-02 15:58:17 +0000 UTC]
Uhh the AT version has no transparency? Might be some error from your side. The AT version with alternate taskbar, then other one is older version with regular taskbar.
The button blinking... well it's the way I designed NEXTLevel. Don't pay attention to this function too much as I have set up blinking time to infinite.
The problem won't exist in Orion I assure you

any one knows how to change the windows explorer text color? the grey text makes almost like it's all disabled, i want it to be black so it's more clear. great theme btw.

Vathanx In reply to linkin2 [2008-11-02 11:49:32 +0000 UTC]
This is complicated process.
I see nothing wrong with the colour text. Of course the problem may be that you've set a large transparency & got very light wallpaper, or this can be also a badly set up monitor's colours

One of the best Aero replacement themes around!

stuartwood89 In reply to ??? [2008-10-22 18:18:22 +0000 UTC]
Hey man, I downloaded this just now and for some reason, when I click the visual style file it always comes up with the Vista Basic skin and not the Aero one like I wanted. My machine does support Aero (I'm using it now), but both folders NEXTLevel and NEXTLevel AT both seem to contain the same visual style.
Please help me sort this out because this is the only Vista VS that's actually any good.

Works fine with NV2 and NV3 from InvaderJohn. I'm using plain old Aero at this minute.
