Hmm... that's strange and do the NEXTLevel appear on the vs list?

Yeah, but only the vista basic one.

Uhh... I've got no idea... Try to apply it with TuneUp Styler

Ok I'll give that a go. I've had to reinstall Vista anyway due to an unrelated problem.

Thanks for your help

Does this theme support Vista x64? Thanks

Vista version doesn't matter

CodieMorgan In reply to ??? [2008-10-20 22:23:16 +0000 UTC]

OMG, I used it on Vista 32 Bit...

But now i have 64 Bit and would like it as a 64 Bit version please!

Vathanx In reply to CodieMorgan [2008-10-21 07:21:32 +0000 UTC]

It's universal, OS version doesn't matter

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CodieMorgan In reply to Vathanx [2008-12-27 19:08:54 +0000 UTC]

Fails to work on my 64Bit version, while it runs fine on a 32Bit secondary OS

Vathanx In reply to CodieMorgan [2008-12-27 19:13:57 +0000 UTC]

This is the first reported problem of this kind

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CodieMorgan In reply to Vathanx [2008-12-27 19:26:28 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps my problem could be in failed patched UXTheme files on Vista.

Perhaps someone with a 64bit Vista patched UXtheme.DLL could send theirs and I try again. I might have missed something.

Vathanx In reply to CodieMorgan [2008-12-27 19:44:40 +0000 UTC]

It is safer to use TuneUp Utilities

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CodieMorgan In reply to Vathanx [2009-01-06 07:05:32 +0000 UTC]

Bigger issue. Problem solved!

As I discovered. The UXthemes patchers I found were 64Bit, but.... they didnt mentions (what os here) 6$ bit... so it trned out to be XP X64 UXtheme dlls instead of Vista 64Bit.

I have googles many times but now im getting the runaround on 64Bit UXTheme dll.

I have yet to find a valid Vista64Bit UXTheme patcher (or patched) download.

It's the worst way of all to manually patch system files, instead is better to use [link] if you don't want TuneUp Utilities

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CodieMorgan In reply to Vathanx [2009-01-06 23:29:47 +0000 UTC]

Problem solved.

Used a manual patch Uxtheme DLL (as an attempt) that was designated as being useable for AMD 64bit Vista systems. But found it works on some newer Intel 64 Bit chips.

After a slight startup failure (another manual mod elsewere in my system) it is woring now!

Okay

CodieMorgan In reply to CodieMorgan [2009-01-06 07:24:02 +0000 UTC]

Uhh,,, when I said problem solved = I meant I figured out why it wasnt working.

The remaining issue is finding an actual patcher for Vista 64BIt or patched DLL.

I am attampting to test a AMD64 specific DLL on a VM install of Vista64Bit, as I am on a Intel chip.

Shit? Excuse me?

Meaning "thats some next level stuff"
meaning "i appreciate that skin"

I assume you're not familiar with slang.
Never mind
Great job, what software did you use to create this one? i'd like to create my own as well

Vathanx In reply to JNKKdesign [2008-10-17 08:26:06 +0000 UTC]

No, I simply do not use vulgarities...

Thank you anyway... currently to make visual style for vista you need 3 tools: some resource hacking tool, graphics editing software & Alpha Icon Converter...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JNKKdesign In reply to Vathanx [2008-10-17 17:12:51 +0000 UTC]

lOL OK, NEVER MIND;

tHX FOR THE ADVICE though.
Im already a professionnal Photoshop user, but i need a name for the ressource hacking software, there are so many out there. i heard of one called restorator or something, not sure of its efficiency...

Can you help me with two or 3 names?
Thx

Vathanx In reply to JNKKdesign [2008-10-17 17:41:10 +0000 UTC]

Nothing matches with it

Hello!

I wish I could use this design. It is really nice.

I have just one problem. I have patched my computer with vistaGLAZZ. But now I can only use the old classic theme.

You know what I can do?

Vathanx In reply to Qarstar [2008-10-06 14:08:34 +0000 UTC]

Hello,

Do you have SP1 installed?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Qarstar In reply to Vathanx [2008-10-07 06:22:22 +0000 UTC]

SP1 = Service pack 1?

Yeah then I have SP1.

Can you help?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vathanx In reply to Qarstar [2008-10-07 07:12:01 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... launch VistaGlazz & check if there's a great shield overlay on the computer icon...
If it's red, something went wrong with patching, you might want to try TuneUp Utilities instead, it's trial but works after it ends too (and it provides a broad set of utilities to make your Windows work better)

this may hav already been brought up, but is there any reason why it is still named as aero and basic when u change appearance?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vathanx In reply to talev [2008-09-24 09:04:12 +0000 UTC]

It's not the fault of any visual style. Simply M$ didn't think that users will add other vs, this means that Windows show up only "Windows Aero" names in the CP
Check the guide here [link]

Smooth-e In reply to ??? [2008-09-24 07:31:19 +0000 UTC]

so the basic is windows home basic because thats what i have ps how do you change the shell32.dll on themes because once i remane it i cant copy the other themed1 or rename it to shell32.dll or the origonal back... yea ive taken othority or whatever

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vathanx In reply to Smooth-e [2008-09-24 08:59:06 +0000 UTC]

The best way to replace system files is to:
1st move the file you want to replace to a backup folder
2nd copy the new system file to the location where was the original
3rd reboot the computer
