Past Sins : Are her sins really hers?Once upon a time, a long time ago, there were two sister who were princessess.
The older one was praised and loved by all the subjects;
The younger one never had nearly as much love and praise as her older sister.
The Glory and Admiration towards the elder created envy in the younger one,
Disgust, Sadness and Malice slowly creeping into her heart.
This created the "Monster" of hatred and despair.
"The Monster" was trying to do everything to help her host, to make her beloved and praised.
But it did so without knowledge or experience, with the foolishness of a Newborn.
This foolishness resulted in the "Monster's" and the princess' banishment from the kingdom.
In time, the two return to the kingdom, but it was only the young princess who was forgiven her sins.
Every shred of malice was attributed to the "Monster", said to be the source of all the evil.
Not even the fact that the "Monster" was born of the two siblings could change anything.
Born from their mistake. Their fault. Their fight. Their sins.
And what has "The Monster" ever done? It was only what the younger princess wanted.
So then ... are "The Monster's" sins really its?

Lemme put it like this: If Luna did in fact become Nightmare Moon of her own volition, then that means that she let jealousy make her attempt to kill her dearest friend in the whole world, a friendship so strong that they were able to wield the six elements together, and she let pettiness destroy it.
Sure, the elements removed her evil, but now everyone is wary of the fact she was nightmare moon, who's to say that same bitterness can't just build up again?
I am not normally one to point to non-canon sources as being better at explaining stuff, but the Nightmare Forces should become canon.
Also, did you know what Sororicide was without looking it up? Because I had to look it up to make sure I was using the right verbiage.

It would be hard to forget the meaning of "sororicide." It's right there in the roots. Sororicide, fratricide, patricide, matricide, filicide, regicide, deicide, homicide, genocide, xenocide, hetericide isn't a word so far as I know but the meaning is clear enough, I'm not sure precisely what the difference would be though between hetericide and allicide, they all explain themselves.
Technically speaking, xenocide isn't a word either. And I had to check the spelling of "filicide" because I've never actually heard that word before, let alone seen it written.
My point was that assassinating family members has a long history as a means of conflict resolution among those in or near hereditary positions of power. I'd hardly say that I approve of killing for sole rulership, but it's certainly not without precedent.
I have to disagree with you about canonizing the Nightmare Forces, though. You can't make something become canon if it already is canon. That's just silly.

To my knowledge, Equestria Girls and the MLP comics are not canon.

It is a matter of debate. Official sources have said that EqG is canon but will not affect the show. Official sources have said that the comics should be considered a parallel universe that diverged after the end of season 2, though not by very much, so anything they mention as having happened before the royal wedding happened in the show's universe, and anything that happens in the comics after that is something that may or may not have happened in the show's universe, but at least plausibly could have happened.
I can't cite my sources. Maybe I could prove the canonicity of EqG if I really put the effort into finding the source, but I have tried and failed to cite my second assertion before. Take my word for it or not, as is your choice.
It's easy to blame underdeveloped characters for their failings, but really they're the victims more than anybody else. It's not Flash's fault that a poorly tacked-on romantic subplot was required, and trust me, Flash is less than pleased that his entire fate in life is to be one-dimensional arm candy for a succession of female characters. So cut him some slack; he's doing the best he can with the poor fate he was dealt, and he's fundamentally harmless.
