I have a felling he is picking up on the Nightmare magic within her, but most likely the feeling will be be push to the side by the fact she is half dragon.

The author's previously stated that she has no nightmare powers, so I'm inclined to believe that Sparity's soul is free from any of her past life's burdens.
However, she is half dragon so that's probably what Alty's picking up on.
