So this turned out to be quite a bit of fun! A lot of work, but still quite enjoyable. Designing is always a challenge but this is always good practice. I found that the hardest thing to do was to not go overboard. Sometimes the simplest of designs work the best.

She does a fair bit of trade and requires quite a few components so she is pretty confident around the merchants and Hermes (who helps deliver goods).

Azoth tends to rub Petra the wrong way so she prefers to keep her distance with him. As for the doctor? He's insistent that her obsession is unhealthy and that her constant consumption of energy potions are going to run her body down. Pfffft. Hypocrite.

PAST

  Petra was born in a port town with her platonic family. They lived well through the veins of trade and became deeply ingrained into the creases of the town. As Petra grew she became restless, eager to expand the limited horizon that the port offered. With her parents blessing she took up an apprenticeship with an apothecary. Petra spent the next few years traveling with her master, learning the trade while visiting countless towns where they could practice. The apothecary was strict but as the years dragged on a rebellious nature was instilled within the young Petra. With her new mindset she began to deviate away from the textbook recipes much to her masters chagrin. Her greatest strength came from her willingness to experiment but it was dangerous. The apothecary felt betrayed by his pupil and infuriated by her concoctions. Driven by their disgust, the two of them fought, resulted in a fleeing Petra with a newfound scar upon her face. From there Petra found herself falling in and out of villages scraping by with her trade.

  She eventually came across a young soul who appeared as a knight in shining armor. He took her in and cared for her through honeyed words and an embellishment of promises. Though it all seemed good, the Gro had his own ulterior motives. Blindly she followed along until she was no longer useful to her lover. Without a final goodbye she was deposited in Wynsiph with no word nor story to explain the events that happened during that time.

  Though hesitant at first, Petra was convinced to set down roots within the town. She started up her own potion shop and proceeded to practice her trade under her own rule with little mediation. Though her work is promising, she does seem to have a single project that she continually works on with no end in sight. Some rumor it's a love potion while others claim it's simply a tonic to cure baldness. Whatever it is, she is certain to keep it secret no matter what.

PERSONALITY

  Petra is the type of Wyngro that may get caught on one thing and compulsively work on it for an unprecedented amount of time. When obsessed, she will work day and night to remedy a solution often leading to an erratic sleep schedule. Because of her profession as a potion brewer, she has access to all sorts of ingredients and secret recipes (of which she keeps under lock and key). With these resources, she is known to concoct powerful potions that help keep her energized through her sleep deprived days. She holds a strong sense of pride in her trade and loves to tease others with her ever growing arsenal of secrets. This has made her a bit of a buzz kill at social events, leading others to try and dance around the topic of her work and more onto reasonable conversational pieces.

Though she is a masterful brewer, Petra is borderline incompetent when it comes to caring for plants. Her green-thumb game is far from strong, and she has been known to murder the simplest of plants through her gardening attempts. This has made it difficult in growing her own spices and herbs, causing potions that require these types of components more expensive. The only saving grace for her lack of skill is her meager grasp on earth magic, though even then she still seems to manage to screw it up. Petra is the type of Gro that loves to dabble in experimental play but still understands the danger that comes with her trade. As such she makes sure to keep as much of her body covered as possible when working. She greatly dislikes having others around for fear of their safety (and possible snooping) and will insist on their immediate removal.

Finally, Petra is a hopeless romantic! She may easily develop a crush on those she encounters around town. This Gro does hold a special fascination for the little winged mailgro, Hermes, despite his flighty work life. Petra uses his services quite often which has allowed her to build a repertoire with the smaller Gro. Because of her desire for a romantic partner and easily swayed heart, the rumors of her "love potion" seem far more favorable.
