Y'know something? I cannot for the life of me remember the last time I drew an explosion. Not to say that I just banged one out from nothing, I looked up a LOT of references and screen-caps to try to get it right and practiced until I got something I could accept. I'm just so pleased with how it turned out; I was really worried I wouldn't be able to pull it off.

I googled "explosion window" and picked the one that looked the most like what I was going for and kept it as a reference. I also looked up some tutorials on DA and watched videos of explosions coming out of windows (animated as well as live-action).
Β I don't always follow the exact technical instructions but it gives me a good idea of how to go about getting the right look.
