UPDATE!!! 4/1/15 - My dear friend and sister of my heart , and I decided to combine our efforts and turn this piece into a collaboration. She really likes what I've done with Jack's character and offered to recolor it for me to. As you can see, her digital color skills are crazy-awesome and it turned out way better than anything I can manage! Given all the health related crap I've been dealing with, this couldn't have come at a better time. It totally made my day and cheered me up! I really enjoy working with her and love her to bits! Hopefully she and I can work on more pictures together in the near future!
In my fic "Integration", Jack is a very mysterious fellow and little is known about his past. Despite having a healing factor, the two scars that he calls his 'last mortal wounds' have never faded and remain as reminders of his past. The one thing that is known is that he was born in Marseille, France and is considerably older than he seems (no one really knows how he knows an ancient God like Anubis, but all will be revealed in time). At some point in his strange and unusual life, he earned the nickname "bougie" Jacque, which is French for "Candle" Jack. The term "bougie" can phonetically be confused in English with the word "boogie", which is part of the reason why he's renowned as the "boogie man".
I've given Jack two different outfits. The one I designed is the one he uses the most in "Integration" but he'll occasionally dress in his canon Candlejack getup just for shits and giggles. He's ornery and likes to scare people. That's the life of the boogey man. HA!
Jack has the patience of a Buddhist monk so it takes a lot to really REALLY piss him off and at that point he starts dishing out the dark magic and nasty tricks, many of which are pretty damn deadly. When this happens, the whites of his eyes turn black and something like what appears to be black smoke bleeds from them, which makes the red of his irises REALLY stand out!!! Even further, if his rage consumes him (or if he's doing something like dealing with demons or exorcism), his eyes go completely black - at that point, you'd better run or hope that his rage isn't being focused on YOU!!! >_>;

The cause of his immortality is shrouded in mystery because Jack doesn't really know himself. He was born into an upper class family, his father a well known figure in politics. Jack grew into quite the prodigy, musically inclined with various instruments (his favorites the violin and piano), highly intelligent and with a photographic/eidetic memory, absorbed information and read through books at alarming speeds. He would have brought great pride to his father and highly revered by his peers if not for his albinism, which the culture and time in history he was brought up in, considered him anathema. From birth, he was kept locked away indoors, never to be seen in public, an embarrassment, a freak. He was loved most by his mother and some of the house keepers, but his father was cruel and dispassionate...
To make a long story short... Jack developed certain powers as he reached puberty, but was very aware of how much such developments would make his situation worse, so he kept them to himself. However, it wasn't until his untimely death during the “Reign of Terror”, (September 5, 1793 – July 28, 1794) following the French Revolution. Jack's father was considered a threat to Robespierre’s objectives and Jack's family home was ransacked and he was found and due to the fact that Jack is as unusual as he is anyway, the townspeople accused him of conspiring against them and a creature born of devils and witchcraft. They’ve seen him take walks at night with his candle, shrouded in robes, which were purely innocent in their purpose, but people assumed. Assumption and wildly conjured ideas fueled the hysteria, accusing him that his midnight jaunts were intended to be used as a means of reporting to foreign spies or victimizing the townsfolk, disturbing the peace… and of course, Jack denies that, says that he’s sensitive to the sun and that the evenings are times when he’s less likely to be harmed by its glaring rays. And of course, being that the majority of the populace are illiterate and fear the fact that he is an artist of remarkable intelligence, there is no mercy given and Jack was lead to the guillotine along with the rest of the family and Jack witnessed all of their deaths, the most painful being the loss of his mother... and then Jack was consumed with rage, awakening a terrifying power inside him and vowed revenge as he was lead to his own beheading...
he later rose from the dead, emerging whole from where his body had been interred and since then, he was no longer plagued by weakness, immune to disease, unable to age or die no matter how many times he tried when he was at a very dark point in his life... He could not die and always recovered, possessing an incredible healing factor. In time he exacted his revenge on those who had wronged him, those who deserved the punishments, all in the name of justice. He became something of a vigilante.... Jack tried to figure out what he had become, seeking the counsel of literature and the various creatures and god-like beings he encountered, wondering if they could answer his questions... to no avail.... until of course, when he was near to giving up, he found himself in egypt and stumbling upon an archaeological dig where an old temple had been unearthed and he summoned Anubis, the god of death and embalming and... he got a very vague reply, but it was the best answer/explanation to the question of "What/who am I? Why am I here? etc" that anyone else had been willing to give him. ... suffice to say, even Anubis doesn't entirely understand how it is that Jack became what he is.. perhaps it began as a sort of spirit/god of revenge that later morphed into something else as he attracted the attention of some higher being that gave him a purpose... Something bigger than everything made him what he is, but Anubis did say that Jack is something similar in purpose to what he is... I'll say no more, because that would be spoiling it. Besides, I rather enjoy a bit of mystery and intrigue. ^_-

As much as I love an all black outfit I do think that Jack would look good with a few grey dtails on the boots and gloves. Just to mix it up and give it a personal touch.
