(reposted my comment due to typos and exceeded the permissible number of edits because I never seem to have enough to say). The biggest problem I had with his lack of anatomy and physiology revolved around the Saiyan tail and that when removed, it was simply yanked off and that's something you JUST DON'T DO because that would be ripping off an extension of the spine and central nervous system.

Example: Having Gohan's tail yanked off by Piccolo in the middle of bumfuck egypt. Had this occurred in real life, it would have either caused death or severely crippled and ultimately resulted in partial to complete paralysis/numbness in the lower extremities as well as a variety of neurological issues, one being chronic debilitating pain for the rest of the boy's mortal life. It really irked me that as meticulous Akira is with everything else, he somehow just decided to say "fuck it" with the tails and drew them to basically make them look like they were slapped on without any thought placed into the process of how a tail actually works. Early in the DBZ series Radditz even stated that the tail is part of what enhances the strength of a saiyan and without it should, under normal circumstances, cause a severe handicap to the individual.. I could go on and on with all the things that was wrong with it and so many other things, that I'd go blue in the mouth from ranting for so long. The even bigger rant I'm still biting my tongue over is the destruction of the moon, which would basically cause the world to end without it. Somehow, by the grace of useful plot devices or the lack thereof, Z-Universe went on without anyone caring or noticing the fact that the fucking moon, which controls the tides,etc just evaporated from outerfuckingspace without any adverse side-effects and that's just NOT possible. There's absolutely NO way you can convince me that blowing up the moon was ever a good idea because it was the just so utterly ridiculous that it just- blows my mind. You can't rationalize, because in the end, the tail, the moon, and a whole bunch of other various shit was never really all that important to Akira in the first place. It's fantasy and in Akira's corner of the universe, he's god and whatever he says, goes. Here you have a bunch of saiyans, the lead character being one, but so many creative liberties were taken with the saiyans that it was almost like he preferred them (and many other alien beings) to look and behave more like humans than actually behave as a saiyan's instincts dictates. ...rrgh, I'll get off my soapbox and let it be. ^_^;

That is fine. Tails are also at the Coccyx (tailbone) and not the waist line: the base would get too much pressure & would lack proper lumbar support & strain out.
So putting the tail at the END of the body would be proper placement.

EXACTLY!! THAT'S what the Tail shoulda been in the FIRST place.

Oh, and Tail are ACTUALLY attached at the base of the Coccyx & not the waist/sacrum. You'd need all the lumbar support if you were gonna hang down from trees and other.
