It's not often you find good, serious SH2 fanart of just Maria. xD And this is definitely impressive. I can see I need to have a look through the rest of your gallery, 'cos... wow.
I'll admit, she's not my favorite SH character ever, but oddly enough, I have a bizarre fondness for Maria that's almost like liking her. xDD I'm really pleased to have found this, and I think I'll stop rambling now and just add it to my favorites.

Just alla prima. Brief thin sketch with transparent oxide + ultramarine + alizarin crimson oil colour. I then laid the basic colour with broad brush and then highlight and dark accents in the end. One session.

I love how... impressionist it looks^^. Is that a word? I mean to say that I love how it looks very much like it is still moving because it's not flat on the paper/canvas.
