I feel like with your graphics, you could teach a "Research 101" class and be considered the "cool teacher who draws you doodles and tests you off of those."

I feel ashamed, really. I wish I could relate to this picture. I do, in a sense, but in my case "bad data" bucket would be much, MUCH larger than here. Guess I'm just not so talented

Agreed. The bad data bucket is often much larger but the process does get more efficient with experience (and by this I don't mean tweeking the data and sneakily transfer from the bad to the good data bucket).

So like, did you hear about this doctor who worked a long time on a paper about metabolism, submitted it into a really top journal, got rejected. Then found out one of the people who peer edited his paper STOLE HIS RESEARCH AND PUBLISHED IT INTO A SMALLER JOURNAL?

The only reason he doctor knew about it was because he read it on his reading sprees. HAHAH I heard it on the news recently.
