If this image looks weird or stretched out at the top and bottom, it's because it's an equirectangular image, designed to represent a 360 degree view. I created it using a few special 360 LoRA models, when made depth maps to go along with the images. Depth maps are a version of the image where distance (or perceived distance) is marked by making things that are closer to the camera lighter and objects get darker, the farther away they are. This allows you to use the image in a 3D environment so that you can convincingly move around a bit in the environment. I say 'a bit' because this is far from making a full 3D model from the image. After all, there's no information in an image for what is behind the objects you see. So if you move too much in any direction, the effect is ruined, because you are able to see that there is nothing back there. I used this series of images and their depth maps to create an interactive VR experience, using TouchDesigner, with is a powerful, real-time video tool used in many interactive art installations. It was pretty convincing, because the depth map added just a bit of spatial movement when you turned your head around. I didn't end up using this in a project though, because even using 4096x2048 pixel images, the picture was somewhat blurry and lacking detail. Perhaps I'll try it again with 8k images. I made this about 6 months ago and have been busy with other projects since then.
