Welcome to my artistic interpretation of Baudelaire's poignant poem, "Albatross." With this ink on paper piece I tried to delve into the themes of freedom, captivity, and the dichotomy of existence. The delicate lines and intricate details bring to life a girl lying on the ground, embodying the symbolism of the albatross in flight. With wings once spanning the vast skies, the girl now finds herself grounded, reflecting the struggle between individuality and societal norms. Drawing inspiration from Baudelaire's metaphor, I tried to capture the girl's vulnerability and the weight of society's judgment. Like the albatross encircled by mocking sailors, she embodies the conflict between the beauty of individuality and the constraints imposed by conformity.
