A couple of weeks ago, Levi had noticed that whenever you were around his heart would ram like mad in his chest. He had also caught himself thinking about you and stealing subtle glances your way on several occasions. At first, he was beyond baffled at his own subconscious actions. But over the weeks he realised that he was doomed. It was as if you had cast a spell over him and he was forever bewitched. To say he was annoyed was an understatement. He was not able to focus on anything anymore. His every train of thought always led him to you. How was he supposed to work like that? What was he supposed to do?

“Tell her how you feel,” Mike suggested.

“Yes, Levi. You should tell her how you feel. I believe you will feel better afterwards,” Erwin interjected with a thoughtful face.

Levi hummed, contemplating the suggestions as he took a sip from his warm cup filled with back tea.

“What, are you scared she’ll reject you?” Hanji teased him.

Levi clicked his tongue in annoyance, shooting her a death glare. “Of course not, shitty glasses.”

Noticing Levi’s hesitation in his silvery eyes, Mike inquired, “Then what’s the problem?”

Levi was pretty sure you would reject him, so that was not the problem. The real problem was that he did not want to look like an utter fool in front of you, Humanities Strongest Female Soldier. However, he acknowledged his comrades had a point. Perhaps they were right and he would be able to focus again on his work once he confessed his feelings to you. What troublesome feelings, they were.

After making up his mind, he muttered, “Fine, I’ll try that,” he concluded, scanning the dining hall with his steely eyes. “Where is she, anyway?”

“I believe she’s in her office,” Erwin replied.

“Alright.” Resolution on his face, Levi made his way to your office.

When he arrived at your door, he knocked twice. “It’s Levi.”

“Come in,” you said in a soft tone that made him feel butterflies in his stomach. “Did you need anything?” You inquired from your seat behind your desk.

“I can’t focus on my work and it’s your fault,” he stated bluntly with an impassive face.

“Whatever have I done?” You tilted your head in confusion.

“Your sole existence distracts me.” He scowled, crossing his arms over his chest.

“I’m sorry for existing?” You giggled nervously, not understanding what was going on.

“Don’t mock me, brat.” He glared at you.

Standing up from your seat you spoke, “Levi, you came into my office saying all this weird stuff. How am I supposed to react?” You asked, perplexed.

“What I’m trying to say is that I have feelings for you,” he confessed at last, cheeks dusting pink.

A short humorous laugh escaped your lips but you became quiet as soon as you noticed Levi’s intense gaze on you.“Wait, are you serious?” You queried in bewilderment, heart racing in anticipation.

He clicked his tongue, knitting his brows. “Does it look like I’m joking?”

“You like me?” You quizzed, cheeks turning beet red.

“Do you see anyone else in the room?” He rolled his eyes in exasperation.

“I…” you swallowed hard and took a deep breath, trying to steady your heartbeats. “I feel the same way towards you.”

          “What?”

“I-I like you, too, Levi,” you stuttered and bit your lip nervously.

For the first time, Levi was at a loss for words. He was completely sure you would reject him. He was expecting a rejection yet you managed to surprise him by accepting his feelings and offering him a confession of your own.

“Shit,” he cursed under his breath.

“What’s wrong?” you brows knitted in worry.

“I wasn’t expecting you, of all people, to have feelings for me,” he shook his head, pursing his lips.

          “Why not?”

“I thought you were smarter than that,” he smirked.

“You’re an asshole, sometimes.” Humourlessly, your lips stretched into a thin line.

“I suppose I should ask you on a date.” The D word rolled off his tongue awkwardly.

“Where and when?” You asked eagerly.

“It’s a surprise and tonight. Be ready at 8 PM. Sharp,” he ordered.

“So demanding, Captain.” You teased, making him click his tongue as he averted his eyes, avoiding your gaze. “I’ll be ready,” you state firmly.

“You’d better, brat,” he warned playfully before leaving you alone in your office.

You squealed and giggled before sinking down on your seat to finish the rest of your paperwork while daydreaming about your date with Levi.
