Description
Recently I upgraded to Windows 8. The first few days of use were accompanied by - "It's ok, it's a new system, I just have to get use to it". As the days of use grew, so to did an overwhelming urge to throw my computer out of the nearest window. Windows 8 and a mouse do NOT get on well together! Enter Start8, a simple program that skips past the metro interface and add the start menu back onto the desktop. Who would have thought a simple start menu would make so many things so much easier. Although there are other (free) start menu apps out there, Start8 looked the best so that's the one I use. This is a set of custom Start Buttons I made for Start8 to add a bit more colour to the tool bar. If you like them and want to use them be my guest.

This is awesome, but what would make it perfect for me would be if the button stayed colored when the start menu was open. You think you could make that? Or maybe you could tell me how to create it myself! Thank you for sharing, though. Much appreciated!

Tried everything from start8, classic shell, etc. and they are all great, till I realized that they are all a waste of my memory usage, startup time plus the start itself has no more use to me except of course the shutdown button that is very fast to find if you're in a hurry but aside from that, no more...
I'll just wait that Microsoft will return the start button for the next coming release version of Windows 8, but I'm not hoping.

Haven't tried Pokki but it made my short-list of software I was going to try. Except I tried Start8 first and was so satisfied with it (and happy just to have my start menu back) that I didn't bother about the rest.
