Been awhile since I posted anything worth looking at, Innit?
So, yes, this is an "old" piece, in that "Droid Head" has been posted once already. However, after kicking around here on DA for the last couple 'a months, I decided to redo some of the older pieces. (Don't worry, I have new stuff on the way. Bear with me). As for droid head, I did make some upgrades. The original iteration was good looking enough (if you can call it that) , I suppose, but the neck needed alot of work. In addition to that issue, I still had pieces that weren't fully attached, so If I moved the piece the wrong way, parts would start falling off. Not good. So what has been upgraded:

*The eye sockets got "eyes" (back of a lightbulb with a magnet held in place with a hose clamp)

*The neck got a total overhaul. The two vertical support rods were the only parts that I didn't pull off & put back. They were fine, and getting them on the first time was no easy chore. I was not doing it again. The "gas housings" you see on the neck and other places are just that - expended CO2 cartridges from an air rifle. My particular favorite on the neck though has to be all the flex metal hose/wiring in the back. Believe it or not, it's the inner armoring/insulation from computer monitor power cables. Cool stuff, I need to find more.

*The face I messed with a little, mainly changing the mouth out. I liked the first one, but the part I had there was really only a space holder. That piece would look better somewhere else on a smaller project to draw attention to it. I added about 3 ALICE clips on either side of the aluminum radiator fins he has for cheeks (ALICE clips are used to attach gear to military equipment. I had, ahem, a few left over from Fort Hood)

The main thing I'm trying to accomplish with this deviation is to get some more views. Alot of people's number one gripe with my stuff (aside from the obvious, lol) is that I never put enough detail shots on. they are right. hopefully this compensates that a bit (thanx for the tip, Wik.) I think from now on I'll probably post two layouts of any sculpture. One either a best view or art shot, and one a tech spec layout like this one. I've been mulling that over for awhile. So when I get some Time, I'll take a best angle shot on this guy and post it.

As usual, comments, thoughts, queries or whatever welcome. I apologize that it is a somewhat older piece, but I'm still working out kinks and bugs in layouts. I think I'm happy. Thanx.
