Description
Misconstrue - Part 1The age of space exploration continues, and Earthβs technology advances. It is the year 3023 and the first human space ship, on a course to find life, has reached a destination. A new milestone for humans, euphoria sweeps the world.
Before contact is made, the exploration fleet malfunctions, explodes and annihilates the fleet right in front of this alien world, which is mistaken as an attack on them. The humans unable to apologize to the aliens about the mistake made, a galactic war begins, and years pass of barbaric killing and battles. Not anticipating the alienβs power of witchcraft, there seems little hope for Earth. Humans flee from the Earth for safety from the unknown and hazardous future. Not a moment too soon, these water dwelling creatures summon forces from the universe to obliterate the Earth in cataclysm, yet only 500 million civilians manage to escape.

i can't believe such an image with countless errors recieves this many comments and favs, its very stupid. No offence, the whole idea of this image is really nice. You must have spent a while on it but, ok, come on... Your plants have been fucking erased at the top like a huge chunk has fallen off. What the hell is the stars doing over the planet? The light source is infront of the asteroids, not behind, they shouldn't be recieving light from the back.
Now, if such a great artist was to make a proper piece of art without just some of these flaws then i can see you attracting such an audience, but for those real artists that pay extreme close attention to their work making sure there are no errors, then these should be the ones that recieve the attention.
I'm just personally pissed. Every day countless artists that have amazing abilities spend 5 times the time on their pieces, they're 10 times better and more detailed than others, but they recieve 5 times less attention.
I'm getting fed up with this place...

i'm sorry for being so blunt, but when you find yourself in one of the top known artists here and you browse around and find someones work that really isn't great and they recieve pathetic amounts of favs and comments it just really pisses us off...
I'm not saying this is a bad piece but i hope you understand.

The most popular and the best are often two different things, everybody knows that. No need for harsh words.
BTW psamtik, do you consider yourself one of the best artists here? You do have some interesting images there, but, as you say, c'mon...

One of the best? ppfffft far from it, i'm probably one of the higher known in my area of art, but wouldn't joke that far. There are new members out there that could probably kick my ass. The only reason why i thought it was so lame is because, and you know this i'm sure, some people take the time to really impress the audience, other people make a shitty piece of work that has been thrown together. Yet these people seem to get waaay more attention rather than the person who spent hard earned time and effort to make another image look 10 times better.
I'm not the only one here who will agree to that statement. Friends and i have had big bitching arguments about that stuff before. And it is quite annoying i must say.
But no matter what happens, we will know who are the better artists regardless of the outcome.

Whoa! Very nice. I like the exquisite detail in the textures, as well as the crackles of electricity and the plumes of blue gassy stuff. The colors are excellent. Me gusta mucho.....

Great work, the storyline is a bit corny and sounds like a plot to some badly written fantasy novel, but the picture is wonderful. Talk to me about coming up with a supporting story if you want something for a future pic

i love this to death! its excellent, though I just have a suggestion(unrelated to science that is, because my opinion is that art can completely differ from the scientific realm if desired, as they are polar opposites)
The chunks of earth floating away aren't nearly as soft as the other objects, so in future pieces u may want to soften the edges a bit.
