Description And suddenly the sword is back in the shot!!!

Step 3: Continue laying down your base/flat colors with your darker colors. Leave white spots for you highlights, as you did with the lighter colors.

Also, color your larger areas first. The reason for this is its easier to match the hue of a larger area in a smaller area (if that makes any sense!) than vice versa.

With this one I used a cool gray 20% for the lighter armor and a cool gray 40% for the darker areas. I may decide to go even darker for the dark armored areas, as we will be using the cool gray 40% to do our shading!

Also it's easier to start with lighter colors and go darker if you feel its necessary. With art markers, once you lay down those darks, there's no going back (believe me I've tried!)

I decided to make the guard on his sword gold also, once I put the darker colors on. Thought it was a nice contrast.

Ok, so i hope that makes sense, feel free to aks me any questions if you need clarification.

I like how with shading you can make lines that don't really exist! *can't shade to save life*

Well, maybe this will help! I'm not the best at shading either, but I figure if I keep trying, I'll get it sooner or later!!!!
