So I was digging through my art and found this little bit of nonsense right here. I was actually drawing it as a follow up to Conrad's little walk through the ages but then never finished it.Then I found it and slapped some colors on it to pretend it was finished so I wouldn't feel obligated to fully color it anymore and called it a day (just kidding I'm still comicking haha).
Just thought I'd share!! Sorry it's so old and crappy I kind of really hate parts but I'm okay with parts but I remember putting effort into it and I didn't want it to COMPLETELY rot on my harddrive.
Forever.

Oh, Hanna.
So much love. So much hope. This is really what HiNaBN is about, isn't it? Taking what life gives you in stride, and soldiering on. He's still himself and he's okay.
The fourth Hanna is definitely institutionalized, but notice how he seems to be coming back to himself a little? In the third stage he's just completely traumatized and terrified. In the fourth he's still disturbed, but starting to regain some self-awareness with a regard towards recovery. He doesn't seem especially messed up as an adult. He's undereducated and poor, and also socially isolated until {...} enters his life, but he's still functional and basically okay. So hopefully his instituional experience wasn't too horrible and may have helped him get back on his feet.
The only thing that bothers me is the hair color change. It's perfectly normal for a little redhead's hair to darken from carrot to brick as he goes from child to adult--that's pretty common for fairhaired people--but during his bad years it's nearly black. I'm going to chalk that up to artistic effect rather than literal change. It's also neat how Tessa only shows his blue eyes when he's under stress; they're usually just beady little weasel eyes.

okay,, I tried to avoid making up theories about the storiline of HiNaBN but when I saw this it just, suddenly hit me! XD;
So maybe 'Hanna' was really not a boys name before(but someone else's), and maybe he looks young because he stopped aging after 'dying'/that infamous accident? And maybe he doesn't have any bodyweight because he doesnt have anything to make him heavy inside..(like inner organs ? XD )
On another note, when the story arrived to Ples, when I was brooding over his 'other/created'(?) self, I suddenly remembered another man's end I once red about ( the story or character is not familiar to HiNaBN or Ples's at all, it only came to my mind because of the created self) but it was such an interesting insight to one's mind, from an artist I greatly admire because of her unique stories!!
It was about a famous researcher doctor, who decided to create a 'doll' which will look and behave exactly like him, so he wouldn't have to go to those fancy 'all about nothing but socializing' parties and the doll could go in his stead.
He created the doll, and started to teach it how to be exactly like the 'perfect' him, people knew. Little trademarks, behaviour, arguing habits, everything.
For a time, the doll proved to be perfect. It learned to be truly 'him' and society loved 'him'.
But then, when the real doc went to parties, people started telling him he's not like himslef. People started to take the 'doll' as the real doc, and believed the doc is the inperfect doll.
The doc tried to convince them but they didn't believe him anymore. He started arguing with the 'doll himself' about it, but it didn't stop being him, and argued back with words he would.
At this point, the reader was lost, too. We didn't know who the real doc was anymore, they got mixed up.
In the end, to prove he's the real one, a human, the real doc shot himself in the head and died, to prove his point - because a robot can never do harm to itself - it was inprinted in it's mind.
After he died, the doll went to him and with a shocked and freaked out face, he asked; then who will I be...? ( or can I be... I don't remember clearly
Because he was just following his loved creators order from the very beginning, which was to; 'Be me.'

I have a theory for the third and fourth Hanna. I think that with the third, he was temporarily a drug addict and was going through a breakdown. Note the enormous scar on his body is not there yet. With the fourth, I think he was either going through rehab or that's when he gained the scar. Either way, he looks like he' recovering from something horrible. Notice the darker hair with the third and fourth Hanna. Even when he looks normal as the fifth, his hair still isn't as light as the first two. Maybe it's connected. I don't know, these are just theories.
