I suddenly felt compelled to draw Doc Worth. Also, Doc worth without his fuzzy coat, so GLORIFIED DOODLE TIME!When I did the bunch of doodles earlier, I had a bunch of wraps around his arms when his jacket was off and somebody asked me what they were for. Instead of just replying with GOOD OLD FASHIONED WORDS, I drew a pic instead.
The scars are from himself, but done for fun. Doc had a spell in his life where a nick from a knife felt pretty damn good and it grew into a habit. It's still a bit of a habit, but not as prominent. He wears sleeves and wraps to avoid questions (as Doc doesn't really talk about himself much, ever) but isn't ashamed of it.
Doc may seem like he has hit rock bottom in some ways, but don't feel too bad for him. I am getting a feeling that Worth is quite happy where he is right now, despite that place being in an alley, while being borderline homeless and smelling like old cigarettes and hospital grade cleaning supplies.
His family, however, probably feels otherwise.

Y'know...
what I really love about Worth-yboy here, is that while he's a 'doctor', he's not a 'glamorous' one like I see on TV.. but he's also not an off-the-deep-end-utterly-crazy one either.
He's just that perfect mix of 'Capability' with 'Not exactly socially acceptable and I'm OK with that'.

Worth is easily one of my favorite characters in this comic. I'm not exactly sure why, but I just... adore him. He's so skinny and gawky and prickly and kind of creepy. I love that he gives Conrad a run for his money (and Abner too, it seems). ; _ ; idk. I just adore him. Even though he seems like a total asshole at times, I KNOW HE HAS KINDNESS HIDDEN AWAY SOMEWHERE IN THAT SKELETAL BODY OF HIS. He cares for Hanna, I can tell : <
I STILL FEEL SORRY FOR HIM, even if he is relatively happy. His whiskers and the circles under his eyes ARE SOMEHOW ATTRACTIVE. Yeah, I seriously don't even know anymore. XD

Well, the good thing about hitting bottom is that the only place to go is up. However, some of the lower depths can feel like bottom when they aren't. I hope this isn't the case with Doc.
Great piece. Love the scars and his expression in relation to the explanation. I read an odd combination of pride and the realization that his habit isn't exactly healthy.

Yeah, helping homeless and lost people in a back-alley as an unlicensed physician in America isn't good enough. It'd be downright Christian of him if he went to India to be a quack, however.

His wrapped arms firstly gave me the idea he could be operating himself for training, testing chemicals (lol?), sutures and the like, since well, he's not studying anymore and it must be hard to find someone to "train" on.
The idea kinda worked for me so i find it a lil bit awkward he cuts himself just for liking it. Still, he's badass *<*
