Description
This is Conrad when he was like in his early/mid teens.Conrad was constantly treated for a cocktail of psychological issues that may or may not have really been there to begin with. But after being told that he suffered them time and time again, he started developing real ones.
His mother was convinced that Conrad was a wreck, and as Conrad got older, so did he. It wasn't long until Conrad was completely alienated from every kid his age as he suddenly didn't trust himself around anybody.
Ms Achenleck truly believed that Conrad was harmful to society, a budding sociopath and god knows what else. She was only doing what was right.
Conrad is from Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name!
PS: This isn't a statement on modern treatment or psychologists, it is simply a single scenario. :]

Oh my... it's just creepy how much I have in common with Conrad O.o (did I wrote it right? My English still suck...) Except I never went to any psycholog because I'm good introverted - psycholog myself

Having studied psychology, I think-and this is really just me thinking out loud, here-that Conrad's mother maybe had a mild form of a disorder that makes mothers lie about her child or children, and not in the "oh, my little jimmy knows 3 languages and can play Mozart's piano concherto in B minor" but the kind of "He's always trying to kill himself and he lashes out at people etc." It's a disorder where the mother needs constant attention, and happens more frequently with single mothers. at best, a mother puts a child through lots of therapy for things he doesn't have (like Conrad's mother), and at worst, these mothers will kill their children after beating them and lying about it.
It just struck me as odd that Conrad's mother would do that, after all.

Reminds me of one of my friends in high school - her mother was convinced she was going to have a drinking problem someday (despite never even having snuck a beer), so she started sending my friend to a teen alcohol abuse support group.
I believe my friend's exact words were: "I never wanted to drink before, until I had to spend time with those people."

So I started going to therapy with the initial complaint of depression. The therapist diagnosed me with depression, schizotypal personality disorder, and possible Asperger's Syndrome. Then, after a getting to know me over dozens of sessions, she says, "I don't think you actually have any mental disorders at all. You just have issues with your mother."
