Description
This is Conrad when he was like in his early/mid teens.Conrad was constantly treated for a cocktail of psychological issues that may or may not have really been there to begin with. But after being told that he suffered them time and time again, he started developing real ones.
His mother was convinced that Conrad was a wreck, and as Conrad got older, so did he. It wasn't long until Conrad was completely alienated from every kid his age as he suddenly didn't trust himself around anybody.
Ms Achenleck truly believed that Conrad was harmful to society, a budding sociopath and god knows what else. She was only doing what was right.

PS: This isn't a statement on modern treatment or psychologists, it is simply a single scenario. :]

I remember those days...Strong ADHD meds mixed with strong Bi-Polar meds actually made me flip out and become bipolar (not to mention extremely violent). My mom got sick of it, flushed all my meds down the toilet, and then...I calmed down and learned how to fit in with normal society. Imagine that.
Anyway. I feel for Conrad, I really do. Poor little bugger, I wanna hug him and tell him he's not crazy. His mum, however...

. . .I keeping thinking of him as the Vampire Who Failed, and somehow I just don't see it. xD (But then I think on his arguments with Doc (and Hanna), and suddenly it's a little clearer. xD ) I feel bad for him, though, since it's seeming he's always been that whackadoodle, but that does add to his charm.

Poor Conrad! He's so adorable when he's anxious. It explains a lot about why he keeps people at a distance now.
I work for a psychiatrist and, yeah, that sort of thing does happen, sadly. Generally in those cases it's the parent that really needs treatment, but they're convinced it's all the kids fault and refuse to get help for themselves. Or they are getting help and it's just not enough. We do the best we can with them and try to get them to go to therapy.

Yeah... I can see why he snaps at people. You'd think his past would give him an edge as a Vampire, but its interesting that it has the opposite effect. He cares too much about what people think of him and therefore doesn't want to do anything negative, as opposed to not caring about what the world thinks after his mother wrongfully passed judgement on him.
No wonder he isn't too crazy about older women and people touching him.

Every new piece involving Conrad just makes me love him harder. I think this just tipped him right to the 'my favorite character' spot.
No telling if he's gonna stay there, though--all of your characters are far too freaking endearing for their own good.
