My characters Al and his girl, Elsie Mae, meeting over his only food, a stolen apple.
A gentle but compulsive thief and an unwilling prostitute- they are the people society has left in the gutter.
He becomes her spark of hope and kindness. She his spark of a future.
I snuggle them even if their story is more bittersweet than anything else.

I will try to post a bit about them if anyone is interested in hearing their story.

"Alright. As the man with the most experience in the room, I'll be doing the judging." Randolf announced sitting on the makeshift table like a king surveying his court. "Lay the ladies on the table, gents." Like he was telling them to lay their cards down at poker. The others in the mess tent snorted, but no one could really resist the challenge. If they had a sweetheart to offer that is. Nor could anyone argue that Randolf had been doing his best to get as much experience with the fairer sex as possible before his life was cut short by an unlucky sword or bullet.
