very little room for the shooting finger and the orange is annoying but i like the design

there's no need for the bipod extensions to be housed as detached elements on the stock - theu could instead simply telescope from the deployed leaves of the fold-out fore-end.

That'd cause problems with folding the guardrest up though.
The additional bipod that slots into the housing is just for additional range, say if you wanted to fire from a crouching position, and needed some extra height on the bipod.

hrmn.
a bipod does not enhance range, it enhances platform stability, which aids accuracy - not the same thing, though I assume this is what you meant.
the great weakness of all weapons with long bottom-mounted detachable box magazines is magazine clearance when the weapon is fired from the prone position. for the bipod to be useful from the prone position, it must elevate the weapon high enough off the deck to completely clear the bottom of the magazine.
as both a current hunter and former infantryman, I would raise an eyebrow at a weapon requiring me to manually install the bipod legs when I wished to use the bipod. Too much time, fumbling, and noise - plus, the legs as currently designed are a snag risk and could get lost during portage.
A clever design could incorporate the collapsed legs into the leaves of the fore-end, without interfering with folding.

I modleled it off this concept.

I'll go through my files and see if I kept the coding for this design, and make some adjustments.

would you like me to make a quick AutoCAD model illustrating the design revision I have suggested?

thanks and you're welcome.
I think I will flesh this platform out all the way.
hell, If I can get a 6.5mm Grendel barrel for a reasonable price, I might even machine it. depends on whether I feel like doing the dance with the BATFEieio

Yeah, you may be right...Though From experience, I dont think animals are that smart ya know? xD
I went with the yellow more because if someone pulls it out of a bag or something, its gunna be heck easy to spot, so it may deter violent crime. But that probably wouldnt work either xD
I do think the yellow and black look nice though. A welcome change from the norm of gunsteel or green plastics.
Glad you liked it though

On the new version of PMG, theres a button, between the flip and duplicate. Ones for "grouping" a selection of pieces to form one piece, the other can is ungroup. A lot of rails and other parts can be ungrouped and you can get some handy parts from it.

I saved the coding so I can rework it in the future and do a military conversion of it. I think the designs pretty nifty haha

I "borrowed" that idea from keltek weapons...They have this sweet little rifle that does that and I just thought it was freakin awesome lol.
I also though of adding the extra bipod column so you can adjust the height if needed.

I was about to say "Doesn't yellow attract too much attention?" But in a desert enviroment it's a good choice color. Though is designed for sportshooters and hunters

VeXeDZERO In reply to pugilismx [2011-05-10 04:25:08 +0000 UTC]

Exactly my thoughts. For a civilian rifle, yellow would look fine I think. It'd stand out, so people would think twice before trying to rob places with it, and if they really need to make it camo, after market paint or ghille material would cover it up.
I also just thought yellow looked really cool, something a bit different
